Congrats! You can't go wrong w/ 12 k a year tuition I applied to the PT program on 1/18/10 but waiting for my Feb score to go complete. May I pry into your numbers?

Age old question here. I have been accepted to Stetson and although I haven't heard from FIU yet, I will more than likely be accepted there as well. Any thoughs or perspectives on deciding between both, given these are my only two options. I know I know I know..UF, FSU..maybe 5 years ago, but given this cycle, not going to happen. I love both Miami and the West coast however I do not speak Spanish, which I truly feel will hurt my job search in the Miami area. I have also heard from many that Stetson is much more connected/prestigious on the west coast than FIU in Miami. However, paying full ticket price for both, would Stetson be worth it in the long run? Are job prospects better out of Stetson or would it be about equal? Any thoughts are appreciated.

I am having the same dilemma, deciding between UM @ full price or FIU w/ some possible $$$. But I am leaning toward entering the public sector, not going into big law. With that goal, I can't justify paying 30K at UM per year.

still waiting as well. 159 and 3.21, applied mid-January, was hoping I would have heard by now...I do have an arrest on my record, which never went to trial and has been expunged, but FIU is one of those schools that requires disclosure of expungements...I hope that's not what's holding me back...

i applied same time slightly worse numbers but for PT...my #1 choice for sure.

I got into the PT program yesterday. I applied early/mid January. Does anyone know how FIU is with scholarship/grant money? or when we should hear from them?

I asked FIU directly about scholarship for the PT program it is not awarded, you can possibly receive need based award.

What were your numbers? Thank you!

Since FIU charges a ridiculously low amount for tuition naturally they arent going to award too much money.

I went there for undergrad. My family was poor and I didnt receive anything from the school. A first time college student grant my freshman year and it was all Stafford loans after that.

Just take out loans.

I called their admissions office today and the young lady I spoke to said they will send out the first round of scholarship offers before the April 1st deadline. Depending on how many acceptances they receive on those offers, they will start a second round after the April 1st deadline.

Spoke to the admissions lady today, e-mail invite to Pre-Orientation BBQ = acceptance = I'm in. I'm still torn between Stetson and FIU at full ticket prices. But I think I'm leaning toward Stetson.

Yea got the BBQ email too, looks like I'm in...But with this 166 on Feb LSAT, I can't really see myself there...If they gave me a full ride might make things interesting tho...But I'll go and eat the free Shortys for sure!

...and what do you know, I just got an official letter of acceptance from FIU. Came in a small, discrete envelope, nothing fancy. No info about scholarships. The letter says I need to respond with my intentions by April 1st, that seems a little soon, does that sound about right?

these are the only 2 acceptances I've received. Stetson is #1 on my list.
