I hope so...and I think they will. Apparently, they only fell out of the top 100 because of an error. They submitted the wrong employment numbers or somthing...?Slimpee wrote:I heard Nebraska will be back in the Top-100 next year.

Seems like a sure thing. There was some kind of silliness with US News using incorrect data about UNL's job placement. Consensus was that US News is a joke and UNL had a right to be angry.Slimpee wrote:I heard Nebraska will be back in the Top-100 next year.

I think UNL will be in the 60s-70s range.

Those of you that have heard already what are your stats if you dont mind me asking? I had really hoped to hear back before Christmas and we are out of time
I was a lifelong resident until 3 years ago, but still have a house and property in Nebraska (housing market is not so great.)

Judging by LSN, the people who have been accepted already are "autoadmits" with LSAT over 75% (160 and up) and GPA over 3.5. HTH

In at Nebraska with 13,700 a year. Unless in-state tuition is jacked up, graduating from law school without debt looks like a possibility...

Yeah I got into Nebraska a few weeks ago. Not sure I'll go though. Town only has something like 72,000 people in it. The town my undergrad was in had about that many people so I'm not too crazy about going back to a town of that size. Seems like a good school for the area. Too bad their football team is having a hard time against SEC teams though.

Lincoln has 225,000 people in it and is a pretty decent town. Good restaurants (not chains), nice local art and music scenes, bicycle-friendly...it's really not bad. Plus, Omaha is close and it's underrated, IMHO...darknightbegins wrote:Yeah I got into Nebraska a few weeks ago. Not sure I'll go though. Town only has something like 72,000 people in it. And Nebraska football is back, don't you worry about that...
Check out the school if you can...you may be surprised!

Re: U of Nebraska 2010 applicants
Thanks for the update, not sure why I thought it was 72,000, think I read on this website that it had that many people. I may give it a visit, depending on what I hear from other schools. Cornhuskers is a good school but the winters are pretty rough.

Most winters aren't really that bad. I'm pretty sure this winter made nearly every one consider a move south.
Slimpee, will I see you at UNL next year?

Hmm...it's still on the radar but it's not super high on the list...twopoodles wrote:Most winters aren't really that bad. I'm pretty sure this winter made nearly every one consider a move south.

Congrats! If you want to work in Nebraska, UNL is the place to go. Plus, in-state tuition is next-to-nothing...talkingcreds wrote:in via telephone!!

Accepted via phone call this morning from Becky in admissions; $15000/yr. This was a safety school, so some of my money might be coming your way.

Maybe you'll get my spot. I got in but I'm withdrawing. I favor the warmer climates of the Southeast and Southwest over Nebraska. Although I do like Lincoln I just don't want to deal with that cold. Good luck!

Just curious, has anyone received their financial aid package stuff from the financial aid office? I'm getting annoyed.

Re: U of Nebraska 2010 applicants
I'm in with a phone call a while back from Beki. I had an extremely late app and was surprised to see I was still offered 4k.
I was considering UNL a safety school, but I'm enamored with the level of customer service (well, and I'm becoming less optimistic about my top choices rendering a favorable decision). I've received two subsequent letters from them, one from the interim dean and one from the incoming dean.

OK, I can do that even if I don't
Today I researched potential places to live in Lincoln. I am visiting next week.

I can't decide whether to get an apartment in Lincoln or commute. There are a lot of affordable options, but I have dogs. I like the law building and love that there is parking! I just finished my last final at Creighton and I'm excited for August!

Re: U of Nebraska 2010 applicants
Yeah I looked at apartments and it seems options are limited for dogs over 35lbs. I'm used to a town where they way overbuilt the number of apartments in town so you can pretty much get and do whatever you want.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
