Re: Northeastern
Do most of you whose decision has been made have an LSAT at or above their median? I'm starting to realize most of these early acceptances are heavily based almost solely on how good your LSAT/how much it boosts their median....which sort of sucks considering my LSAT is crap and my GPA is what's holding my application together.

Re: Northeastern
Holy crap! Mine says "decision mailed" too! I went complete on DECEMBER 4TH, which is also the day I applied. This might be the fastest law school decision ever made. My LSAT is 2 points above their 75th%. GPA @median. I think good news is coming, guys!
Rankings be damned, I have a really good feeling about this school. Also, to address a previous poster's concerns, I don't think Northeastern is the kind of place that would outright reject a high-gpa splitter.

I have a good feeling about it as well! Now if only I didn't have to work so I could sit by my mailbox all day...
I went to NU for undergrad, and absolutely loved it. If I didn't want to move from Boston than NU would definitely be a top choice, despite the rankings. I worked with students from the law school in UG and got a really positive feeling from them. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys

They are undoubtedly acceptances. MY GPA >75th and LSAT >75th. Yeah I live in Boston as well-- I should be getting this today and I'll let you guys know.

I'm in Brookline, so who knows if it'll take longer to get to me. But I guess if they're sending a bunch of decisions out at the same time, they're probably the same decision...maybe.
Anyway, good luck! Hope everyone gets some good news soon.

Going to check right now as I go buy a burrito. I'll be back with the results in 15-20 min.

Re: Northeastern
Congrats to everyone! Yeah, I hope they don't outright reject a high-GPA splitter. My LSAT = 25%, GPA = 75% (although it will go up a tiny bit after fall grades are released). Not that this will make much of a difference, but one of my LORs is from a Northeastern alum who I worked for.

Re: Northeastern
I called the offices hoping that they'd give me my decision through the phone.
Although they didn't they did tell me that the decisions had been made but not necessarily mailed out. The lady said that it really could take anywhere from 7-10 days

Re: Northeastern
You mean even though the status checker says "Decision Letter Mailed" on 12/07/2009, that might just mean that a decision has been made, but they haven't actually mailed it yet?jaskat wrote:I called the offices hoping that they'd give me my decision through the phone.Although they didn't they did tell me that the decisions had been made but not necessarily mailed out. Re: Northeastern
yup
She said the letters were still in NU ready to be mailed. All I wanted to say to her was " You lied!!", but I refrained in case they'd change my decision, (only applies if it's an acceptance obviously)

Boloco is fantastic. At least we have that, if we don't have acceptances yet.vapourgypsy wrote:Oh man, you went to Boloco? So jealous.
And I, too, thought "decision mailed" was a pretty unambiguous phrase. I have much to learn. It's cool, though.

Yeah, you'd think if they didn't mean "decision letter mailed," they wouldn't write "decision letter mailed." Heck, it might have been easier for everyone if they had just put "decision rendered" in the status section, or even the decision itself... you know- like every other school?GobiasIndustries wrote:Boloco is fantastic. Re: Northeastern
It does seem silly, they'd probably save themselves a lot of phone calls if they put what they're actually doing with the applications. But I'm a part of the whole 12/1 GULC fiasco so I'm really jaded right now.Burger in a can wrote: Yeah, you'd think if they didn't mean "decision letter mailed," they wouldn't write "decision letter mailed."
