I'm just jealous of you Farmgirl, since you went from Iowa to DC, where as I went from DC to Iowa. I definitely got the worse end of the deal in that trade.

My wife, who is one of the biggest city girls I knew when we were dating, decided that she wanted to get her PhD in Genetics, specifically in Corn Genetics, hence Iowa. I was dragged here against my will.
And I got to apply to UMN, since Georgetown is showing me no love.

I am dead serious on this. FWIW, she is really good at it. But every time winter hits, I wish I was back east.

Did anybody apply to Minnesota Early Decision, which is binding? I did! Will definitely get an answer by 12/1, and it will be admit or deny...no waitlist.

I have not yet applied to Minnesota, but plan to once my LORs are in. I'm a little worried about the fact I haven't applied yet-- did anyone else get the impression from the application that Minnesota pushes hard for applicants to apply early? I am also a splitter on the fringe for Minnesota (Law School Predictor: Weak Consider) and I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot by not deciding until late September that I want to apply to law school this year. You all seem to be on your game, but I'm just wondering whether anybody has any more info on how much they value early applications, and how late is considered late. Hoping to apply by mid-November.
Also, anybody know whether in-staters get a boost at Minnesota? Not sure I qualify, as I've been moving around for years, but I still have a Minnesota license, vote in Minnesota, and often use my parents' address as my "Permanent Address"...

I wouldn't worry about applying "late". Their website specifically says they get the majority of their applications AFTER November 15. People are applying up until the very last possible moment. You should be fine.

My "in review" date on the status checker changed. It was 9/21 until today. Now it says 11/02.
Do not like.
