William and Mary had the fastest turnaround time of all the schools I applied to, I heard back within two weeks.

I don't think I'm an outlier either, most of the people I've talked to at W&M got their acceptance letters within a few weeks of going complete. Generally, it seems like if you are accepted, you hear back within a few weeks, and if you are rejected, they don't get back to you for months and months.

Just to be clear, that's two weeks from completion email to acceptance letter/email/singing telegram/whatever?

If I'm ever in a position to have a say in this sort of thing, I'm going to send out notices by singing telegram.

This. Although W&M says they are officially not a rolling admissions school, they will send out acceptances very soon (if not already) to the applicants they like. After that, there will be some acceptances scattered about here and there, but most applicants will hear around April 1. Chances are, if you submitted your app early (Sept-Oct) and do not hear any good news in the next couple weeks or so, things probably don't look too good for you. I mean, there probably are exceptions, but this is how it worked last cycle for the most part, i.e. if W&M really likes you, they act as a rolling admissions school and accept you very quickly, otherwise get ready for the massive WL in April.

I submitted on 10/27 and received my complete email this morning.

Hmm...I double-checked my app and all my contact info is correct. I might wait until next week, around the 1-month mark, and shoot them an email.

I applied in early september, hopefully we'll hear soon! I talked with a couple of the law school students there when I went to go visit and they all said that they didn't get their acceptance letters till march but they still got in. So maybe there is still hope for us that will not hear in the next few weeks.

Whoops. I should have been more clear. This was for last cycle. I applied end of Sept., heard back mid-October.

I submitted 10/3 and received a complete email 10/8 and nothing since then. I'm in state and my numbers should be auto-admit at W&M, unless yield protected. Anyone know if W&M does this?

This is based on nothing but my gut, but since W&M doesn't have "rolling admissions" I think they are probably less likely to YP. I think they try to accept or reject people for sure and their WL is for people they hope will come if admitted in the late spring/summer. I don't think they try to fiddle with numbers as much as some other schools might. But again, this is just my opinion based on what I've read about the school.
