Good luck everyone!
I hear if you start the first letter of each paragraph in your PS w/ A-D-M-I-T, you will subconsciously control Dean Iwerebon's mind and she will be overcome with an inexplicable urge to admit you. This is the best soft you can achieve.
edit: Oops Helm, I meant to PM that to you
but I guess the secret is out now. But seriously, good luck, I remember the feeling when I first opened that e-mail and found my ED acceptance letter. Words do it no justice.

wah? email?? hmm dunno if they changed things this year but this is what it says on the columbia website:
"Please note that decisions will not be available online; rather, all applicants will receive their decisions by mail."
I kinda assumed this meant we'd all be waiting for snail mail. but do they send out emails also?

Re: Columbia 2010
I'm a little worried about this as well. I know Columbia has a reputation for not sending decisions until January, but in the event that they (or any other school) were to mail in December I would be at home for break. Is there any way I can notify them to mail to my permanent address for a few weeks?irie wrote:M51 wrote: edit: Oops Helm, I meant to PM that to youbut I guess the secret is out now. The USPS offers a mail forwarding service that may interest you.wackjickham wrote:

@helmholtz, I'm not ED so I'm assuming that if ED hears back in early December this year, I should be safe waiting until January for RD
@theadw The only issue is that I live with three other roommates, and I wouldn't want their mail forwarded to me. Any idea if there is a way to only have mail with my name on it forwarded, and the rest of it sent to the address?

Wait, so will we get an email or a letter? Or an email only if accepted? Or how did people find out last year?

Letter. I vaguely remember hearing a few people, in extraordinary circumstances (abroad with limited access to mail for a period of time, etc) received email notifications, but the vast majority of applicants heard via snail mail. Also, the online status checker only indicates whether your application is complete; it does not indicate if CLS has reached a decision regarding your application.oneforship wrote:Wait, so will we get an email or a letter? I hope you're right. My addendum talked about my very limited/slow mail service here in Africa and asked for email correspondence if possible.MeTalkPrettyOneDay wrote:Letter. On an unrelated note, I'm an ED applicant as well. Fingers are crossed for a November decision.

I'm still waiting for my September LSAT score, but Columbia is my top (realistic) choice. I've got my application ready to go as soon as my score arrives unless I somehow completely bombed September's test.

Re: Columbia 2010
Just sent in my application! Columbia is my first choice (barring a miracle acceptance from Stanford / Harvard), so I'm hoping to see all of you next fall!
btw, GP: if that's a picture of you in your avatar, I have the strange feeling we went to undergrad together and even had a class together... weird. or you just bear a striking resemblance to someone

Complete as of today (my last school to go complete). I would be stoked to go to Columbia, it's part of my six-pack--the schools I will be legitimately excited to be admitted to/attend.

I was in the first RD batch last year, January 22nd or something. you've got a long wait/fairly accurate estimate.wackjickham wrote:@helmholtz, I'm not ED so I'm assuming that if ED hears back in early December this year, I should be safe waiting until January for RD

Has anybody who applied ED received anything from CLS letting you know your app was received, was complete, etc?
