PT or FT? Mind sharing your stats?
I was waitlisted there in 2007 with 147/3.08/URM
I have reapplied this cycle with a 155

I took the sept LSAT (first time taker) and scored a 149, which is 1 short of STCL's lower median. My GPA is 3.5. But i did not apply this year. wondering what their numbers were this year? anybody?

I am really starting to worry about this one. I have stats that are good - 3.47 and 153. I went complete on 2/8 and haven't heard anything from them since. Any thoughts to what I should do?

Agreed, my status has been stuck on complete from 2/3. Perhaps for applying late it's taking longer and more a chance at the waitlist even though we have the numbers to get in?

I suppose you could find an excuse to visit admissions, ask some questions about the school, the program, what ever, and also check on the status of your app. Have you attended the open house or anything? Maybe getting some face time will help. Good Luck!jgrin wrote:I am really starting to worry about this one. I have stats that are good - 3.47 and 153. It is just odd when you look at LSN and see someone with a 151 and a 2.68 that has been admitted and someone with as low as a 149 that has been admitted. Something is not adding up - I just want to hear from these guys.raperez129 wrote:I suppose you could find an excuse to visit admissions, ask some questions about the school, the program, what ever, and also check on the status of your app. Have you attended the open house or anything? South Texas does reasonably well despite being outside of the T100. If you want to work in Houston, I'd suggest taking a year off and improving your LSAT score and applying to UH. If the opportunity cost of waiting is too much though, South Texas does seem to be pretty well respected in the city.

How long did it take others to hear back from STCL after being complete?

Re: STCL South Texas College of Law
Mine took about two weeks after being complete. I checked the status multiple times a day and it never changed. I just got an email late in the afternoon that said I was accepted. I went back to the status checker and it went from complete to admitted. I'm not sure what they are looking for. I was rejected 2 years ago with a 147, but I know a girl tha142t graduated from STCL that got in with a 143, and she now works in BigLaw. It must be some odd combination of attributes they look for.

Someone was in last week. I received an invite from admissions to a diversity student reception.

I called the admissions office today. They notified me that my file was complete and that it was eligible for review. They said that they pulled applications randomly from the completed file so it didn't matter how long you had been complete for. They said that it could be as late as May until some find out.raperez129 wrote:lepradillo wrote:Has anyone heard anything today?

Re: STCL South Texas College of Law
I got accepted with a 149 and 3.6 gpa. I've had a lot of trial experience working as a law clerk at the district attorneys office. Good lors and good personal statement (I think) might off put me over the edge. Things like my familiarity with the code of criminal procedure, penal code, preparing for trial were all things that I mentioned in my optional essay.jgrin wrote:It is just odd when you look at LSN and see someone with a 151 and a 2.68 that has been admitted and someone with as low as a 149 that has been admitted.
