At 48, I suspect I'm older than all y'all. I just hope they don't fill all 60 seats before I get my app in.

It seems that they will be making all the admission calls this week.

Re: In at UC Irvine
Pretty devastating that I haven't heard anything yet. I was really hoping UCI would show me the love...I haven't heard anything yet from any of the schools I applied to...so frustrating.

Heard from a few folks that go there. I think their numbers will end up being 165-170. This is all pretty interesting to me. Though I would not take Irvine over any of the top 60.

Their application deadline isn't until March 1. I hope they hold a few seats open.

They probably will, but expect to be in the 170+ range. Noam Chomsky is looking at this board. I just read the whole "Irvine" thread, maybe he can entertain this topic by going to the admissions office right now.

173, but I don't know what LSAC is going to do to my GPA yet. Hoping my transcripts come through tomorrow.Jwatson wrote: They probably will, but expect to be in the 170+ range. Your 173 will probably get you in, though you would probably be better off with a full ride from UCLA.

Re: In at UC Irvine
I can't say I wouldn't consider that, and I am applying there too (if transcripts and LORs arrive on time -- their deadline is 2/1), but right now it's all about the opportunity to be involved in the birth of a new law school for me. I'm too old to start a biglaw career, but I could see myself doing some kind of PI law, or a political staff job, and I see UCI as a unique opportunity. I know I can continue to do IT consulting on a part-time basis in Irvine, so I hope my debt won't get too out-of-hand.Jwatson wrote: Your 173 will probably get you in, though you would probably be better off with a full ride from UCLA.

I hope you mean the first round of offers. If they only make offers to 165-170, they are already above a lot of the t20 schools in terms of LSAT. There's no way they are going to get 60 of those people to enrol, even at full scholarship. At least doesn't seem so to me.Jwatson wrote:crib wrote:Now what does that mean? Yes indeed I am reading... (and refreshing every few seconds). This is very nerve wrecking. I'm thinking about hand delivering a GPA addendum as an excuse to visit! I'll try to get as much info as I can.Jwatson wrote:gcalvin wrote:Their application deadline isn't until March 1. I hope they hold a few seats open.

Your past posts have been pretty interesting. Good job on attending all the info sessions. You should really just go over right now and confirm whether it's true that most seats will be offered this week.

I overnighted my application package to Irvine last Thurs. (15th) and still haven't heard anything via email or snail mail. Getting worried it was lost.

I was referring to when you said that you "Heard from a few folks that go there." Were these people students or part of the administration?Jwatson wrote:NoamChomsky wrote:Where exactly did you get this information from?Jwatson wrote:

edit*: Nm, As I re-reading your post I realized that you clearly meant students.

When you get their mail, can you tell us when their first seat deposit is? I'm curious to see if it'll be sooner than other schools so they can decide on how many more applicants they'll admit/WL.
Re: In at UC Irvine
Looks like they ARE filling up their seats this week, more people on LSN.

I just want them to acknowledge receipt of the package I overnighted to them last week. I sent them my application package and still no request for my report.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
