with the quality A1 info. much appreciated.poptart123 wrote:I am a reapplicant to UT, and if I remember correctly, it took about two weeks from submission to get my UT EID login. I think I was told that they didn't start processing applications at all until Sept. 15.

Hey y'all. I'm looking into the Hazlewood Act because my father was in the military in the early 90s. Is it really all that easy to qualify? No catch? Just residency for me and pops (now and at enlistment), 181 days of service, and an honorable discharge (in the DD 214), plus a birth certificate and application form?
UT would be amazing for free if it is really that simple.

I didn't get one but I didn't expect one with my stats. Don't know what to tell you.LawschoolHopeful2k16 wrote:Did anyone else get an email for a fee waiver? PM me with your details and I'll give you some more information. It's a little more complicated than that (I went to undergrad on Hazlewood and am not eligible now that I'm in law school).poptart123 wrote:Hey y'all. Does anybody know how long it typically takes for UT to send out the confirmation email letting us know when our app has been processed? I submitted mine on 09/06/2016 but haven't heard back from them yet. Just wondering if this is common, or if I should contact admissions to see if something is up. Thanks!

Submitted my apps a few weeks ago, every school has e-mailed me except them!raahookem2013 wrote:Does anybody know how long it typically takes for UT to send out the confirmation email letting us know when our app has been processed? So maybe they just take a little longer to process or going to wait to a certain amount of apps come in?

I'm not sure, but I'm in the same boat... Submitted about a week and a half ago, but haven't heard anything. I found a status checker on their website (although it's different than the standard ones I've seen for every other school). I was able to create an account and login, and they told me that my app was complete and under review.raahookem2013 wrote:Does anybody know how long it typically takes for UT to send out the confirmation email letting us know when our app has been processed? When you say that They told you that your app was complete and under review, do you mean the admissions staff, or do you mean the website status checker after you created an account?atlantahoo wrote:I'm not sure, but I'm in the same boat... I just used my old UT eid from undergrad to log in. I was able view my application status page and it states my application was completed 09/09/16. Submitted 09/06/16. Not sure if it is quite Under Review yet.raahookem2013 wrote:When you say that They told you that your app was complete and under review, do you mean the admissions staff, or do you mean the website status checker after you created an account?atlantahoo wrote:I'm not sure, but I'm in the same boat... Sorry- the website status checker stated that my app was complete and under review.

Anyone get an email with a status checker? I submitted on 9/1 and still haven't seen anything. Tried to use the different status checker referenced above, but it said there is no application on file for me.

So I did not get an email, but I was able to set myself up with everything I needed despite having no prior connection to the school.
Go to their website-->JD Admissions-->check your status
It should say something about a UT EID, you should be able to request one, it will ask you a bunch of stuff you shouldn't give to people pretending to be the IRS on the phone (name, place of birth, SSN ect), and then (assuming they have had your stuff for a while) it will probably find an account it thinks "may" be you. (mine is first middle last initial and then 3 seemingly random numbers). Claim it, set up the password (it will send it to your email), and obsess* away. That worked for me. Hopefully I'm not an anomaly.
*technique only

Hmmm.. I see that UT is trying to be the new Emory in terms of communication to applicants.

Figured I'd put this here for y'all: last cycle I was invited to interview. it did NOT go well. It was not a friendly, tell me about yourself and your interests interview. I was told my application was very confusing to the everyone who looked at it and they had no idea why I wanted to go to law school or what I could bring to "the 15th best law school in the county" (he actually said this). It was very confrontational in a "prove yourself to us" way that none of the other interviews I did last year were. No hard feelings, though - it wasn't a great application tbh!
So, just heads up -- prepare for tougher questions if they reach out to you! I know they don't interview a lot and I know they aren't always like this, but they can be.
Good luck to everyone!

FINALLY got my application confirmation email today... roughly a month after app submission. Does anyone know when they typically start making decisions?

According to http://mylsn.info/r/pre-law/timeline/chart/, in November. Last year, however, decisions started going out mid-Decemberatlantahoo wrote:FINALLY got my application confirmation email today... roughly a month after app submission. That seems to be an extremely petty move from the school. One would hope those methods of "interviewing" have been cleared up with this cycle.guybourdin wrote:Figured I'd put this here for y'all: last cycle I was invited to interview. it did NOT go well.
