In 2005, he was appointed Amicus Curiae of the International War Crimes Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in the matter of transferring cases to domestic courts. In 2009, he was presented the lifetime achievement award by the American Society of Comparative Law. In 2010 he was appointed special adviser to the Prime Minister of Croatia, and agent of the Republic of Croatia before the International Court of Justice, heading a team of Croatian and English lawyers in the case of Croatia v. Serbia.

That's seriously just the tip of the ice
Berg. Of course, everyone knows Guido Calabresi, Harold Koh, and Amy Chua, all of whom are brilliant and super nice. But pretty much every professor here is the absolute best in their field. Noah Messing, the legal writing instructor, won pretty much every writing award possible while here, then became an extremely successful appellate litigator in DC, before becoming legal counsel for Hillary Clinton. There's also a fascinating talk the three YLS alum justices gave in 2014. You can learn a lot since they're all brilliant, but it's also interesting the moderator knows them well enough to call Justice Alito Sam.

Speaking of those talks, it's crazy how many amazing people come here to talk. Judge Kozinski is coming for a talk tomorrow. Friday, we're having about 10 justices from supreme courts around the world coming to talk, as well as Justice Breyer. Plus dozens of other prominent legal scholars and authors, all of which have free food as well.
