I'm debating. The debt is scary. Leaning toward Fordham with close to full ride. 174/3.26.gopurp333 wrote:So who would take NYU at sticker if you got in off the Waitlist? Where is everyone deposited at? I am not sure how to make polls, so if someone knows please let me know!

Is today the day? Last year, Wednesday, May 6 was the first day WL applicants began hearing. Fingers crossed and best of luck to all!

It might be next week since the deposit deadline stated in NYU's website is this Friday. But sooner the better!gopurp333 wrote:Is today the day? Last year, Wednesday, May 6 was the first day WL applicants began hearing. Fingers crossed and best of luck to all!

Did anyone else get that email they just sent out asking us to confirm our interest in remaining on the Waitlist .

Yesss I get the email! Question: if an offer is extended to you, do you have to accept the offer? Harvard has this policy that you need to be sure that you will accept the offer to remain on the wait list... NYU does not have the same thing, right?Nlawsing wrote:Did anyone else get that email they just sent out asking us to confirm our interest in remaining on the Waitlist .

What sort of responses are you planning on giving? I expect they range from "I will accept at all costs" to "yes but only with a scholarship or significant aid"...

I don't think it's a bad sign. They may use this on applicants who have not sent a loci or expressed sigificant interest. If you did express significant interest/were an ED deferral (for example), they know you want to go.didyoueatmycookie wrote:Didnt get the email.. I think they're all similar . I'm sure you can stay on the Waitlist even if your not sure you'd say yes if offered a spot. You can always decline . Know what I mean ? Although with Harvard they have a set deadline by which you have to accept the offer I think it's 24hoursEYD457 wrote:Yesss I get the email! I just sent something quick saying I'd like to remain on the Waitlist and would definetly accept if offered a spotgopurp333 wrote:What sort of responses are you planning on giving? I expect they range from "I will accept at all costs" to "yes but only with a scholarship or significant aid"...

Re: NYU c/o 2019 WAITLIST
Nobody can force you to accept an offer, even if you tell them you will. However, that should be avoided. No sense in seeing how many WL acceptances you can rack up, especially when there are a ton of us pining to get off the WL ourselves. you're not really screwing NYU by telling them you'd accept. You're screwing your TLS comrades hahaha!EYD457 wrote:Yesss I get the email! Question: if an offer is extended to you, do you have to accept the offer? Wondering if we should expect to see any movement on the status checker? Or is not worth checking anymore

I assume the two people who received the feeler email today already replied that they wanted to remain under consideration when WLd?Nlawsing wrote:I just sent something quick saying I'd like to remain on the Waitlist and would definetly accept if offered a spotgopurp333 wrote:What sort of responses are you planning on giving? Last year, Deposit was Friday, May 1. UR reported on Monday, May 4 and first WL acceptances went out on Wednesday, May 6. UR could potentially start today, but I'd say tomorrow or Friday with offers on Monday. Thoughts?nyc15 wrote:Wondering if we should expect to see any movement on the status checker? Same here, submitted a LOCI just prior to receiving wait list notification and then a short two-paragraph note along with my affirmative wait list response.didyoueatmycookie wrote: Didnt get the email.. Is that a bad sign >.<

Re: NYU c/o 2019 WAITLIST
My impression from last year's thread was that after the waitlist confirmation, there was at least one UR phase. Turnaround to a decision after that phase was generally quick.nyc15 wrote:Wondering if we should expect to see any movement on the status checker? Or is not worth checking anymore?
