It could also be a factor of when folks applied in the cycle..I applied really early (Octoberish), so I heard back from a lot of places really quickly. Still waiting on a few that are reaches

Re: Splitters in Limbo
I applied mid-october to everywhere except a couple of California schools, but I didn't start hearing back from anywhere above Georgetown until two-ish weeks ago. I think for splitters the timing doesn't really affect when you hear back. Case in point I heard back from Vandy a solid three months after I interviewed on campus, which in theory is supposed to "expedite" your application, and I know that a lot of other splitters went through the same thing with both them and Northwestern.

This is my thinking exactly. I know that if I hear back from Berkeley too quickly it's certain to be a rejection.drblakedowns wrote: My thoughts are that it is better than a WL or a ding, but its a crapshoot for each school depending on how each school's numbers look

Bolded is sort of an unrealistic expectation. Maybe they're waiting to review you until they can see what sort of apps they get in the 2016-2017 cycle.BirdLawExpert wrote:
At this point I'm just hoping that I hear back from everywhere by the end of March, and maybe I'll be under review at USC by the time that 1L starts up in the fall.

LOL, once you're under review I'll have hope my app will be soon.BirdLawExpert wrote:Well, well, well, the most diabolical splitters this side of the Mississippi.

I sent them an updated resume and their response was basically, "thanks, I guess" plus a note about how updated materials wouldn't affect my admissions timeline.jumbo2016 wrote:Bolded is sort of an unrealistic expectation. Really? USC was one of the only schools that got back to me relatively quickly. Other than a WL from Penn, I'm still waiting on everything Texas and above.jumbo2016 wrote:Bolded is sort of an unrealistic expectation. Yeah I have a month-to-month lease so I won't be homeless, that being said it's a little uncomfortable not knowing where you'll live in 4 months time...Petrichor wrote:got WL @ 1/3 of the places..my lease will run out soonish so hopefully i know where i will end up otherwise i will be homeless lol

Please tell us your secret. Did you bake the ad comm cookies daily? Did you send them cakes that said "read my application"?HawkeyeVodka34 wrote: USC was one of the only schools that got back to me relatively quickly. .

Apparently I was just really lucky. Out of state, weak softs, no optional essays or anything. I applied at the end of November and I got accepted in early January.jumbo2016 wrote:Please tell us your secret. Did you bake the ad comm cookies daily? Anybody else checking LSN graphs multiple times per day to see if anyone with your numbers was admitted?

Yeah. And every time a wave of admits comes in and my status checker doesn't even move, it makes me wish I had gotten better grades. I have a feeling we'll get our decisions pretty soon though.capricasixx wrote:Anybody else checking LSN graphs multiple times per day to see if anyone with your numbers was admitted?

+1. I rue how much of my life I spent underachieving and denying my true inner nerd.HawkeyeVodka34 wrote:Yeah. I already know what my "worst case scenario" is with law schools, and it's definitely not bad/I can live with it, but it sucks knowing that my LSAT would make me competitive at any school, and my GPA takes me out of the running for at least a handful.

I try to look at it as being fortunate that I am still able to get serious consideration at some of the best schools in the country even though I made some mistakes with my undergrad.capricasixx wrote:+1000tsujimoto74 wrote:it sucks knowing that my LSAT would make me competitive at any school, and my GPA takes me out of the running for at least a handful.

Re: Splitters in Limbo
If only it were as easy to retake undergrad as it is to retake the LSAT lol. That's the one I need a do-over on.
This is true. I am at least thankful that my LSAT still makes me a credible applicant at many great schools, even if my GPA means I'm not the most qualified candidate they'll get an app from. Glass half empty/full, etc.HawkeyeVodka34 wrote:I try to look at it as being fortunate that I am still able to get serious consideration at some of the best schools in the country even though I made some mistakes with my undergrad.capricasixx wrote:+1000tsujimoto74 wrote:it sucks knowing that my LSAT would make me competitive at any school, and my GPA takes me out of the running for at least a handful.
