I just got accepted today. It was my top choice. If anyone else is definitely headed to Malibu PM me.

I'm not 100%, but Pepperdine is my best option as of now. I'll let you know!

Congrats! Got mine today too, with a scholarship offer. Quicker turnaround than I thought (<2 weeks).knowcompinc wrote:I just got accepted today. It was my top choice. If anyone else is definitely headed to Malibu PM me.

Yeah me too. I applied 7Jan. So yeah that was certainly a quick turnaround it's my first of ten applications that I sent out. Now it's the only one I needed.

Hi yall,
Is there anything higher than Dean's Merit scholarship (Other than full-tuition)?
How difficult is it to stay top 50% of class in Pepperdine? (I know it depends on your work ethics but in general...)
How is living in Malibu?
Job prospects?
I am waiting for my letter but just filled with questions after seeing you guys' status! Also, can someone PM their stats and $$ info? Pepperdine is one of my top choices!
Thank you!

Dean's Merit can be different amounts, probably all the way up to full tuition.yunjh2725 wrote:Hi yall,

They also have a full tuition + stipend ($7000/yr) scholarship called the Faculty Scholars Award. It requires an additional application, the deadline for which has passed.

Re: Pepperdine c/o 2019
I got a dean's excellence scholarship, which is full ride and only condition is staying in good academic standing (2.3 GPA). I live in Venice, but Malibu is dope. It can be kind of snobby, but Topanga is really nice and that's probably where I'd live. Grading is a strict curve, so top 50% will be tough and to be honest I wouldn't consider going with that condition on my scholarship because I'm pretty risk averse and Pepperdine isn't my first choice. You can check out the employment statistics for job opportunities, but I think there's a lot of JD advantage jobs because of the stellar dispute resolution program, which makes the BAR passage job stats seem a bit low. I had a 3.6 GPA and a 172 LSAT.yunjh2725 wrote:Hi yall,

Dean's Excellence (which as you said does not have a top 50% requirement) seems to be a diversity scholarship.

Nope. Part of the response I received in case anyone is interested in negotiation:nlee10 wrote:Anyone successful with scholarship negotiation?
"With respect to scholarships, all of our current awards are determined by an objective matrix, which is based on a combination of LSAT score and undergraduate GPA. For the sake of fairness to all of our admitted students, we have not awarded individual merit scholarships using other subjective criteria, though we understand that other law schools may have different practices. I got a call last week from Professor Reed saying I was a finalist and inviting me to the faculty scholars weekend later this month (and another call from Alexis yesterday to go over the schedule). Did you miss any calls from area code 310?racb wrote:Anyone know when we'll hear back about the Faculty Scholar Award? Constantly refreshing my email...

Can anyone who was accepted post or PM their stats?
I graduated in 2010 with a 2.3 (atrocious, I know) from the Naval Academy
165 LSAT
I honestly have no idea if I have a shot with Pepperdine, but would love to go!
Thanks in advance!

Submitted application on 1/13, "under review" 1/22, accepted 1/25. Also a former military officer, Go Army! <25 GPA, at the median for LSAT. Went to Pepperdine for undergrad as well.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
