Anyone here from these guys yet? It has been 8 weeks+ for me so far, and I've heard back from almost every school so far except them.

I thought the same thing but at least as you go down in class rank it works like a ladder rather than loosing the whole thing.gator_guy93 wrote:I applied early November. I was accepted 1/26 and awarded a full tuition scholarship. However, I am rather disturbed by the stringent stipulations. No other school has the stips on scholarships like St. John's does (at least from those that I applied to). Doesn't give me a good feeling!

But when you look at the scholarship retention info, it does not look good. In 2014, 64% kept some part of their scholarship and only about 43% kept their full scholarship amount. With a tuition of 55K, the ramifications of losing even part of your scholarship are severe.Buddha180 wrote:I thought the same thing but at least as you go down in class rank it works like a ladder rather than loosing the whole thing.gator_guy93 wrote:I applied early November. I received the Alumni Tuition Scholarship, must rank in top 40% of class for 100% retention, top 55 for 75 and top 65 for 55. I think the St. Thomas More Scholarship has less difficult conditions however. Other schools I've been accepted to either have no conditions or a GPA limit (2.7)What kind of stipulations are we talking about?

Cardozo doesn't have any stipulations at all and Brooklyn is a low requirement of remaining in the top 80%Buddha180 wrote:what other schools might I ask?the_murray wrote:I received the Alumni Tuition Scholarship, must rank in top 40% of class for 100% retention, top 55 for 75 and top 65 for 55. Anyone else still waiting for a response from them? My application has been complete since 1/14, no updates since. I called the admissions office but they weren't very helpful - just said we would hear "shortly". Wondering if anyone else is in the same boat, as I've heard back from all other schools already.

Can I ask why and where your going? I got full too and I am currently debating whether to deposit the hefty $650 deposit or withdraw. The stips scare me and I honestly want a stipend on top full, but nonetheless I am still considering it.UDtoLawSchool wrote:Just withdrew. Full tuition scholarship back in the pot!

I put down a seat deposit at Brooklyn for an almost full tuition scholarship. Stips are honestly terrifying and St. John's isn't really worth paying that much money if I lost my scholarship.betterLawyerUP wrote:Can I ask why and where your going? Hey guys! Any advice would be great I'm trying to debate between a full ride at St. John's; or , Georgetown/Cornell with little money. Any reason why I should pick St. John's ? Also gunna ride out the Waitlist at Harvard and NYU.

This seems like a super hard decision. Just ask yourself: would you rather be ten minutes away from Hillside Avenue or ten minutes away from the Supreme Court of the United States of America? I would advise you to go with your gut.

with options like that you should also have full rides at much better schools than St John's. did you apply to any other schools in-between? You could prob get killer $ if no full rides at T25Nlawsing wrote:Hey guys!
