No news is good news I guess, but oy, it's nerve wracking! Have they started sending denials yet? I wonder if maybe they didn't want to deliver bad news before Christmas and that is why I haven't herd anything...

Really, shouldn't that only be when wait listed? Anyone else agree that would be a good idea?zot1 wrote:Send a LOCI.Xnegd wrote:Hmmm, I still haven't herd anything one way or another (applied 11/12/2015), they're very very quiet.waw wrote:yepppt5 wrote:Did anyone get a snail mail acceptance but no email?

If you really want to get into Irvine and that's the school you want, I don't see why not follow up. You could wait until wait listed. My advice doesn't ever have to be followed.

Cheers Zot1, I'm not at all dismissing your advice, I greatly appreciate it. I am just worried that I may annoy them as the last query I sent went unanswered (meaning they must be really busy), and they did specifically say in bold when I applied to not contact them unless it was an "emergency."zot1 wrote:If you really want to get into Irvine and that's the school you want, I don't see why not follow up. As such, I just wanted feedback from others. Thanks again!

I didn't take it the wrong way at all, I promise. I guess if they've told you in the past not to contact unless it's an emergency, that changes things a bit. You should not contact them unless it is in fact an emergency.Xnegd wrote:Cheers Zot1, I'm not at all dismissing your advice, I greatly appreciate it. Zot,
How would you say the general 'atmosphere' or 'feel' of UCI Law was during your time there? Seeing as it's a brand new school, I'm curious how it was there. Also, how is the career services center? I've heard varying things about different schools.

The general atmosphere was great. I'd say Admissions does a great job to get a very diverse class. People are friendly because that environment is fostered. But there's still a healthy sense of competition. For me, it made law school easy and fun. If I could go back, I would go to Irvine still.mud415 wrote:Zot,

Career services has had a lot of turnover even within my three years there. My personal experience was that the office was with you until you started to seem like a lost cause. I'm not sure if this was just me--other people felt differently about the office and the help they got. I felt like I wasn't guided as well as I could have and when as a 3L, I was going nowhere getting a job, I felt like they couldn't care less. I got a job, but that office didn't have any part in that. I was actually happy about that.
But yeah, I wasn't happy about my overall experience, but the general feel was that other people felt differently than me.
FWIW it was rumored the Class of '15 posted ridiculous job numbers AT graduation. If true (official stats aren't out yet), then the office is getting the job done, specially because more people have gotten jobs since graduation.
Sorry I rambled a little, but I hope that was helpful.

Applied: 11/29
Accepted: 12/30
Full packet with scholly: 1/9, $105,000 over three years with minimum 2.5 GPA
171/3.4 GPA, not URM
Definitely considering UCI if they increase their scholarship offer. I'm here in AZ and both the state schools are cheaper right now, but I'd love to live/practice in SoCal and I really like the direction of UCI.

Does anyone know where to reserve their scholarship at? I checked everywhere for the e-form.
