Checking in!

Does Emory typically send out fee waivers at a certain time? For those of you who requested waivers how did you go about it?

This is good to hear. Emory is one of a handful of schools I'll be checking out next Friday.

A positive turnaround, I hope!
I sent a solicitation email on Friday, probably after they had already closed up shop.... Hoping for a waiver by next weekend or I might just bite the bullet.

I sent an email this morning and heard back from them within an hour. Fee waiver code included.

your post made me mildly jealous/rageful - until I rechecked my list and realized I had confused Emory with GW and that I already have an Emory waiver

The space was miserable, low ceiling, loud, broken escalators, crammed into a relatively small area, seemingly nonsensical elevator buttons (they stationed attendants to help people) and split the workshops and representative tables between two floors and hallways. That said, reps were pretty upbeat and positive -- Dean Faulk from UVA (who introduced himself as Cordel and I didn't make the connection immediately) was particularly high-energy and outgoing. Some very solid student reps as well.

Overall, I found it a pretty good time/experience.

Are many admitted off the waitlist?

I believe two people posted in last year's WL thread they got in. LSN shows the same.

I know of a handful of people in my 1L class that were admitted off the waitlist. For my class, it seems that more people decided to matriculate than the admissions office initially anticipated because our class is significantly larger than they planned. So I think the admissions director was planning on using the waitlist more this year in order to avoid that same issue.

Checking in. App complete 10/27.

btw, I have no anticipation of acceptance - I expect a ding, this was one hell of a reach, but I figure the shot in the dark was worth the $30.

Hey all, Im an undergrad at Emory at the moment, applying for the next cycle. I'm pretty involved with stuff at the university though, so I should be able to answer a lot of questions about Emory if you have them (and since I'm not on payroll for this, I can be brutally honest with you).
