It will be before March, that much is certain. I mentioned that I had a significant scholarship from FSU, but it didn't help me out with getting beyond what I was given. It matters more what your GPA and LSAT scores are and less about what your other offers are. As far as scholarship $ goes, I applied in March and found out that I was getting some money about a week after I learned about being admitted. No clue about anyone who applied early. If you're above the 75th for GPA or LSAT, there is a good chance for scholarship money. If you're out of state and make it clear you want to become an in-state resident, they'll give you an in-state tuition equalization scholarship, which is worth about $20K.

Ok thanks. That helps. I'll just wait everything out, see what I end up with and contact them then. Thanks for the info!unsweetened wrote:It will be before March, that much is certain. Emailed admissions at 10:30 p.m. and had a fee waiver 10:00 a.m. the next morning! The Abyss wrote:Yeah, they are generous with fee waivers.OLitch wrote:They give them away like candy at Halloween. Admissions called me the other day just to follow up and congratulate me. They said they would like to answer any questions I have so I asked when they will make scholarship decisions and they said "I think sooner rather than later". I don't know if that is any help.Scalvert wrote:Ok thanks. That helps. I'll just wait everything out, see what I end up with and contact them then. That's awesome. Have you, by any chance, heard anything at all from Emory? I have not, and I applied in Sept. GSU does well in Atlanta too from what I've heard, so...win/win! Congrats!Maplesyrup wrote:so ironic i just posted that... my fiancé just got a killer job in atlanta so i think now it's come down to a decision between emory and and a close to full ride (hopefully) at GSU. this morning i was on pins and needles to hear back from UGA and now i don't even care lol.. life is strange.

Re: UGA c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
To my knowledge no one has heard back from emory, last year things didn't really pick up until February. and yea GSU doesn't have the same clout prestige wise but with a full ride i think it is a defensible option for many, especially those who are not big law or bust and know they want to stay in Atlanta.Scalvert wrote:That's awesome. Yeah, me too. At first, I was not too happy they didn't have a SC, but honestly every time I check one of those things, I get no useful info whatsoever. I checked them several times a day at first, now I hardly bother.Maplesyrup wrote:To answer your question more specifically i got an email confirming that my file is complete. that is all from emory.

Got my scholly award via email today. Tuition equalization + 30K. I'll just have to remember to apply for residency. Equalization scholly is only good for one year. Not bad

Can all of my fellow applicants share their stats and where UGA ranks among schools they've applied to? That would really help me out as a fellow applicant.

Above both medians, not sure how close to the 75ths. ('18 Medians thread doesn't list them)
If by ranks, you mean likely to attend, I would say it's up there. If I get into any of the t14s I applied to, it'll probably be at sticker and I can't justify that. So far I've gotten three scholly offers and this is the best so far. W&M's was for more$$ but they didn't offer tuition equalization. Plus I hear Athens is pretty great.FELLOWAPPLICANT wrote:Can all of my fellow applicants share their stats and where UGA ranks among schools they've applied to? Athens is really nice and the law school community is very welcoming. Game day is pretty fun.
Also FWIW, the school has made a big investment in adding to the Career Development Office, with two new staff members starting. Another new program which is starting this spring is semester in practice in Atlanta.
I can't say enough good things about the tuition equalization "scholarship" since it helped pull me from out of state.
