I got the email for that. Didn't see the option on the application so I'm assuming the school takes care of it. Hopefully I know in 10 days!Leagles5161 wrote:Checking in. Just submitted application this morning. I saw on last years thread that people got accepted quickly through a "fast track" program, but don't see that option anywhere on the website. Anyone know about this fast track?

I sent an email asking about a merit based waiver and got a response that my request for a waiver was under review and I would receive an email later.flgrad2014 wrote:Do you know if they are still sending out an email for fast track or are they done? also do they have a merit base fee waiver?thriller1122 wrote:I got the email for that. I got my email on Wed. So, I'd assume they are still sending them out. I don't really know a lot about BC. I'm not even going to go but it was free to apply and I want to get an acceptance letter so I can stop stressing (although if I get denied it will backfire in a major way). As far as fee waivers, I'm active duty military so I can pretty much get a waiver from any school. As far as merit based someone else would have to answer that for you.flgrad2014 wrote:Do you know if they are still sending out an email for fast track or are they done? also do they have a merit base fee waiver?thriller1122 wrote:I got the email for that. Under review as of today.
For those admitted thus far, how long was the gap between complete --> decision?

Accepted via fast track on October 23rd (it was the 10th business day) with a 166/3.83. As far as I know, they can't be solicited. I visited over the summer and asked the admissions office about the fast track app and they were very hush hush about it.
Good luck to everyone!

That's awesome! Congrats. Was it 9 days or 9 business days? I feel like veteren's day is really screwing this up for me... (I'm active duty, I really shouldn't be saying that)AMajorChord wrote:In. Not fast track, but I found out in 9 days! Pumped

3L at BC Law. feel free to ask any questions. I'm happy here; people are really nice and professors are generally good.

In your opinion, what is the difference between BC and BU? Knowing what you know now, would you pick BC all over again?
Thanks for your time!

Accepted this morning after going under review on 11/4. 166/3.69. I was eligible to be a "BC Law Fast Track Plus candidate" because I'm a current student at BC, which means they get a decision back to you within 48 hours.
Good luck to everyone waiting!

Anyone get a fee waiver that was supposed to be automatically applied but wouldn't show up? I don't want to bother the admissions people about it, but they sent an email this morning saying I was good-to-go, but LSAC is still charging me full price. I just wanna submit!!!!

Oh ok, thanks! This is first one that I've experienced a lag. I'll give it a day or two.AMajorChord wrote:There's a bit of a lag time! Im interested in this as well! BU is higher in the rankings but it seems like BC has better employment prospects and a better alumni network.gunton224 wrote:AlanShore wrote:3L at BC Law. feel free to ask any questions. I'm happy here; people are really nice and professors are generally good.

I was actually able to solicit a fee waiver and ended up getting a fast track invite as well. >75th LSAT and between 25th and median GPA

Re: Boston College Law Class of 2019 applicants
Good question. I got into both and had very similar scholarships at both. I also did undergrad at BU but I was an athlete there so I feel like I didn't have a typical undergrad experience.Dexter97 wrote:Im interested in this as well! BU is higher in the rankings but that doesnt make any different for employment. BC might have better employment prospects but that varies year to year and I think overall we're pretty similar. I think BU has more school-funded jobs which tend to be frowned upon but in terms of clerkships, big firms, small firms, etc. I think we're similar enough.
The main reason I chose BC is because BU, in general (undergrad and grad) tends to be less personal and have less of a community. I think it's just the result of being a huge school. Since I went to BU undergrad, I never had that community/school spirit feel and I wanted that. I visited both and I felt like there were pretty big cultural differences between BC and BU. BC students are known to be really friendly, nice and have school spirit. BU on the other hand, is much less personal and people tend to do their own thing more. I am generalizing obviously but from having close friends at BU law, I think its safe to say that in general, BC students are happier to be at BC than BU students. This is not to say I wouldnt have been happy at BU - I think I definitely would have been totally fine, but I've enjoyed the smaller closer-knit community at BC and I would do it again.
The last thing is that BC does have a very strong alumni network and I think a bit stronger than BUs because people tend to come away with strong school spirit. I wanted to take advantage of this for employment reasons and in general, I've found that the strong alumni network is real. One thing I do miss about BU is that it's a city campus. BC is suburban - in a really pretty suburb but not in Boston itself. I'm a city person so I do miss that but it was nice being on an actual campus. I think if you visit both, it will become more obvious which school is your fit. I think some people find BC to be overly nice; we have a reputation for being the Disneyland of law schools. I don't really think thats accurate but I can understand how some people would prefer to be more anonymous, in a city campus, and go to BU.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
