Is the parking the nightmare I've heard for the law school?
Ya know, I thought it was until I heard about other law schools. Now, my opinion is that it's not bad at all compared to the other law schools out there.

I haven't had any issues finding parking this year. Last year, there were issues at times. Generally, at worst, you can park down by Lake Alice...it's just a long walk to the school. But I've been able to get spots in Frat Row or the Lot behind the law school every day. Corry Village is also an option instead of Frat Row.

So I wouldn't say it's that much of a nightmare. If you park in Corry Village or Frat Row, it's a slight walk but if you get in the main lot, it's connected to the law school.

The thing is that there are certain times that are terrible. Generally, you either want to get there before 9:30 AM or after 1 PM. If you get there between 10 AM and 12 PM, you might have to park at Lake Alice...or possibly even further.
Thanks for the reply. I was actually at the school today and I can see that if you're not there early, it could be problematic. I asked a couple of people about it, and they didn't seem terribly bothered by it. I did a school tour and class visit, and overall I was pretty happy with what I saw.

Yea, our class complained so much that they created additional parking in Frat Row and Corry Village after they took away the parallel parking which fixed the issue.

Two. What about yourself?

I'm still under initial review. Little bummed about that.

I have not actually submitted my app yet because I am waiting for one more letter from an old professor of mine. You guys think I should keep waiting? This will without a doubt be the best letter submitted and will carry the most weight in my opinion. I have two others so that will put me at 3 total

Well, you can wait or submit it when you're in comparative review. We are still super early in the cycle yet so you've got a bit of time. How much longer is it going to be do you think? Also, I think it depends on your numbers. If you're 170/4.0 then I wouldn't sweat it. If you're 157/3.2, then I might wait and get that last letter.

He said that it will probably be middle of October before he gets it in. He is an adjunct professor at UF law and a judge..

Also my numbers 160 and 2.99. I transferred into UF for ug and graduated with an upper division 3.61 so I hope that helps a little bit.

I also wrote a really good GPA addendum because I had a lot of things going on my freshman year and that is why my GPA is so low.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone in the UF discussion has an opinion on my situation. I have a 164 and a 3.63. I have 3 LORs total, but only one has been received/processed by LSAC. The other two likely aren't coming in until late October. My question is, should I wait for the other two letters to strengthen my UF application/admission and scholarship chances, or should I forgo the letters in interest of applying early? Thanks in advance for the help!

I would go ahead and apply given your numbers. I had worse numbers than you, only submitted one letter, and got a pretty good scholarship. It's more important to get it in early (although I didn't get mine in near this early).

I agree with this advice. Numbers are the most important part of the application and they will process your file without the letters in them. You're above the 75th on lsat at at the 75th on gpa, so you should be in a pretty good spot.

Just a note aside, UF had the second highest bar passage rates and the highest MPRE passage rate in the state.

I ended up submitting Friday. My status switched to initial review this morning and then to comparative review later today. Hopefully that's a positive sign. I appreciate the advice!

Went into comparative review this afternoon. I noticed on last year's thread that no one was in comparative review until November. With all of us already in comp review, is it far-fetched to assume that we may be hearing back much, much sooner than previous years?

I too noticed that. I certainly hope so, it would make the next year of my life much easier to plan if I knew before January what was happening. I read an article by the dean about admissions yesterday that could point to changes. Perhaps she's changing admissions cycle around there. After reading last years thread, I'm certain they lost quite a few good candidates because the process was so convoluted and long.

I'm still not holding out much hope of anything definite before November.

I actually e-mailed UF last week because it is looking more and more like I will be deployed in the coming months. The reply I received back stated they would be sending out decisions starting in the beginning of October.

Hot Damn. Well maybe we'll be in the first wave. Thanks for the info. I know last year they sent out decisions based on your score bracket, any indications on that?

This may be a dumb question, but when exactly do scholarship negotiations begin? Is this something that starts immediately following your acceptance, or does it start in January after you've filed your FAFSA?

No clue. But I'd negotiate as soon as they told me what they were offering. Especially if you have other offers on the table. I didn't negotiate...I didn't know that I could. Didn't know about TLS at that time. Plus, I applied late (March).

Interesting fact that I read in the article I posted before, which I apparently missed the first time. Since Sept. about 50 people have applied to UF (which is an apparent increase from last year), so that's what you're being compared to right now, us 5 and 45 other folks. lol
