Can we add these sample personal statements (http://www.law.uchicago.edu/alumni/maga ... irownwords) to the OP?

Why not apply and see? I got a fee waiver before applying and so the cost was virtually nonexistent.barley wrote:I love when other people make decisions for me!Dcc617 wrote:Do it.KMart wrote:+1.Ron Howard wrote:Applybarley wrote:Kinda checking in! Haven't fully made up my mind yet.(No sarcasm!) I'm currently leaning towards applying, but I highly doubt I'd get any $ and am very debt averse.

I think you should still apply, and you can PM me if you want to discuss your situation.barley wrote:I love when other people make decisions for me!Dcc617 wrote:Do it.KMart wrote:+1.Ron Howard wrote:Applybarley wrote:Kinda checking in! I tried to solicit but they said they don't do solicitations only to send me one a few weeks later in my email.mpellenberger wrote:How did you get the waiver? From CRS? Solicited. I'm not a rockstar but I have a 171...

Yeah, I figure there's not much to lose, so if I some how manage to finagle a fee waiver I'll definitely apply. LSN has me as a toss up (50%) for admission, and even though I have much better chances at Columbia and NYU (and prefer them), a potential Chicago offer couldn't hurt for $ negotiations!KMart wrote:Why not apply and see? You applied this cycle? Did you ask for the waiver, or was it unsolicited?

I applied last cycle. I tried soliciting but they said they don't offer solicit based waivers. However shortly after that they gave me an unsolicited one. I'm not sure how "unsolicited" it was but I'll say it never hurts to ask (even if you know they're going to say no).barley wrote:You applied this cycle? I'll be sending it in on the first day or at least whenever I get my fee waiver.

Re: Chicago C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I sent in an application and then updated it with my LOR, however I had 2 at the time I sent it in so I'm not sure if this advice applies. It does suck when the writers don't understand the urgency and you can't rush them for fear of getting a poor letter.Seamus887 wrote:I will apply as soon as I get my lorurbanist11 wrote:UChicago app opens up tomorrow! Probably will submit early next week, personally. Going to be a long shot, but I sure do love Chicago.Hate that I can't control when I can submit.

You guys have plenty of months left to be considered "early" still. No worries. Don't be anxious just yet, that comes in the next 7,500 hours you spend waiting for decisions.

I submitted my application several hours ago. I know I said I'd wait for a fee waiver but since I cut down the number of schools I'd be going for this cycle, I thought it'd be sort of affordable and neat to have a chance at being the first file reviewed at what may be my first choice.

That's sweet. Mine is done, but I'm pending the military fee waiver.Procyon wrote:I submitted my application several hours ago. Did you do the Doctoroff addendum? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
