Maybe we should get a poll going? Anyone have ideas? Maybe either what region you are from or where Mich ranks in your list of dream schools
I like the which region poll idea! I'm curious to see where everyone comes from.

Why is it that in-state and out-of-state tuition fees are so similar? I would have expected in-state to be a lot more subsidized, like public vs. private undergraduate colleges.

Ah, so then why have differences in tuition at all?

True, maybe it's kind of like college admissions, where it seemed that state kids would get a slight boost in admissions (even for private universities).

Hey Everyone!

I want to wish you all the best of luck with your Michigan applications! I'll be starting at Michigan in just a few weeks and I hope to see as many of you as possible in Ann Arbor next year.

In case it helps, I also wanted to share a little bit about my application process. Collectively, my numbers were a little on the low side so I took every opportunity I had to show the adcomms that I wanted to be at Michigan. After applying in mid-October, I received a waitlist decision in February/March. I scheduled a visit a few weeks later and, not only was it a wonderful experience, but I also felt like it helped tremendously in being admitted. I received the acceptance phone call about a week after I returned from Ann Arbor.

My advice for all applicants strongly considering Michigan is to really demonstrate your interest in the school. Put a great deal of effort into your "Why Michigan" essay and schedule a visit. If you are waitlisted, write a LOCI and add something meaningful to your application (Work experience, volunteer opportunities etc.)

I can also say that I was pleasantly surprised with the generosity of Michigan's scholarship offer. I didn't expect anything as a waitlist-admit, but their offer was more than I ever imagined receiving.

June LSAT takers were up 6.6% from the previous year, and even February had a 4.4% increase.
