I read an old thread (on LSD?) where someone applied to a school, got auto-dinged, and a few weeks later received a fee waiver to the same school. Dunno if it was really true, but that would REALLY annoy me.

I got a rejection at Tulsa and then weeks later received emails about how I can now check my status online to 'see where in the process' my application was.

Yeah, what a dick. He put that "Unsubscribe here" link in the email for no good reason. You should file a restraining order against him.

Let the man do his job. If you don't want to hear it, unsubscribe, delete the email, and be done with it.

I was kind of mad at first and I think he can do a lot better job of what he's trying to do, but the man's got a job and he's doing his best. I think the first thing he should do is target some more realistic numbers - there's just no way he's getting 165+ applicants. In reality, a 156 does as much for him as a 180. These are the people for whom Florida Coastal's scholarships might be a decent deal.....

I am not going to give him grief for recruiting, and he does give it that personal touch. The emails were annoying (especially today's guilt trip message about how i did not reply to last week's email), but my girl friend (who is pre-med of all things) suggested i check for a "unsubscribe button" and low and behold there was one. Then i felt like an ass for complaining about solicitation i could have stopped long ago.

That would be a funny comeuppance. 25 years from now, having to explain your kids that they cannot attend Havard because you weren't more civil to a guy working for a small for-profit law school in Florida.

I wrote him back a very polite email explaining why I was not considering FCL as an option. He replied late on a Friday night--like 1AM. As others have said, he's just doing his job. I think he deserves credit for personally (and exhaustively) contacting applicants. T4's are a hard sell and he's got a tough job recruiting students. I don't see a point in responding rudely to him, or ignoring his emails when I could just as easily send a polite one. I don't care if it's Steve Jones from FCL or TS from HLS, I believe in treating everyone respectfully.

TITCR. I did the same, politely explaining that I had been accepted into schools closer to the areas I wanted to live and practice.

Steve Jones sent me many messages... Even said I was Pre-Approved for Florida Coastal... well, I am waitlisted.

who? Steve Jooones. I gave him a call, left a message, and he called me back during lunch. Our conversation was 30 seconds: "the admissions office will contact you if they need anything (to get you off the waitlist)"
