Last year (when they didn't accept too many off of WL) people on TLS didn't hear until July 22nd.
The year before, people heard June 5th.

Would you give up the grant to go to Berkeley? For me that is the "what if Berkeley admits me" question that I wasn't able to answer yet. Paying sticker price is a little scary.

In an incredibly unhelpful development, Boalt Admissions tweeted that they're reviewing transfer applications now. Hopefully they are multi-tasking and evaluating the waitlist as well.

loki, are you from Cali? I'm curious because I know you got NYU, which I consider to be a better prospect than Berkeley unless you want to study in the bay area/are already established there.

I have lived in California for many years (with NYC and east coast ties) and would prefer to end up back in CA. Psyched about NYU, but the possibility of staying west is tempting.

Getting tired of waiting. Honestly, need to hear back by the end of the month, or its no deal.

took a look at the fb group just to get some sense of the numbers. class of '16 has roughly 600 members while 2018's got 177 (no group for '17?). Hoping this means there'll be some waves coming at some point in the future. Several school groups are underrepresented tho so this could just be one of those.

We have no immediate plans to use our waiting list. However, there may be a possibility in late July.
I contacted them yesterday and this is what they got back to me with. Oh well.

I contacted them as well yesterday and they confirmed that there has not been any waitlist movement. They said the WL movement can happen all the way up until first week of classes.

wow that's a huge bummer.. thanks guys for checking in and letting us know. i now have a new found appreciation for update emails from other schools. was hoping the lack of communication meant they were on the verge of pulling out candidates from the waitlist. guess not

Emailed a couple days ago - doesn't sound like they're planning on using the wait list anytime soon, if at all.

Called admissions just to check in.
"We have not taken anyone off the waitlist yet and at this point we don't know if we'll need to. At this point you should make other arrangements".
Ugh.

Haha. Paid deposit for my new apartment, got keys, stored stuff. It's over Berkeley.

Dinged via e-mail. No offers made off WL this year. Unbelievable.

I sent a LOCI letter last year and got immediately rejected off the WL 24 hours later. When they say "don't send a LOCI, it won't help your chances", they mean it. Just sit tight and hope things pan out. Good luck.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
