Is anyone doing the diversity statement (Topic 3)/know if it actually helps to write one?

You have to completely break ties with any state that is not North Carolina, be completely independent from another individual, and reside (with a valid license, voter registration, paying taxes, and preferably with registered property such as a vehicle) for exactly twelve months before they will grant in-state tuition. However, there is no limit to how many times you can apply. You could apply each semester until it is granted.

The downside is if you move to North Carolina, say in August before classes begin, you can't leave the state to work your during your 1L summer because you have to continuously reside in NC for twelve months.

The in-state tuition application is on the UNC website and can probably answer your questions better than me though! http://www.law.unc.edu/admissions/residency/

Hope that helps!
thank you very much!

Checking in.

I've been sitting on "Application Complete" for a few days. What's the turn-around for the switch to ready to review and under review?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. My dates were also not showing up until last week. I went complete well over a month ago. I'm about a tenth of a GPA point over their 75th and over their LSAT 75th by a bit more than 10 points. I think the dates disappearing is just something that can happen and means nothing one way or another.[/quote]

wait so did you get your acceptance?

11/03. Fastest turn around of any of my apps. Wish I could hear from UGA now too.

Mine haven't. Also does anyone know if it goes from complete to under review? Or does it just skip to admit/deny after being in complete status?

+1

Im not sure if theyve admitted too many people so far. My guess is no one is going to find out today and instead hear back next week.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
