I think it is the small class size + bad job market that made them fall quite a few spots. The quality of the school hasn't changed, the quality of the job market..well.....

Very much so what LS2015 said. by objective numbers, the enrollment decreased substantially from C/O '15 -> C/O '16, but that was because of the unintentional over-enrollment. As for now, they should be pretty good about keeping the enrollment numbers steady.

Also attributed to ranking drop: class of '13 (I think 13, maybe 14) was an unusual occurrence where the bar passage numbers dropped substantially. This probably affected a number of job opportunities that were contingent on bar passage (lots of people going into Gov positions need to pass the bar first, as far as I know). Along with the tanking economy affecting rural schools more so than urban schools, W&L had a bad year.

There are no implications on this as to how it'll affect the future ranks/job opportunities but things should be bouncing back imo.

Regarding the bar passage, C/O 2014 fared much better, beating out all other Virginia schools other than UVA (and was only slightly behind UVA): http://barexam.virginia.gov/bar/barresults.html

Just got an email saying that a decision will be posted later today. Does this mean I can expect a deny? Just seems weird that they wouldn't email a congrats or regrets.
