Re: GA State c/o 2018
Does anyone know if its suggested to wait until you receive scholarship information before you put down your deposit? I don't have high hopes for scholarship money, but I just want to know if its better to wait and see before putting down the deposit. I was thinking that they might not give you money once you've already basically said you're willing to go no matter what.
I probably won't commit until I hear back from all the schools I applied to any way, but I'm getting antsy.

I don't think it makes a difference. Because a lot of schools have seat deposits due before other schools even send out decisions, some people are forced to pay first seat deposits to a backup school before they even know if they got in to their top pick. The schools know not everyone who pays the first deposit will end up attending. Just as an example, GA State's first deposit is due in April but one school I applied to doesn't send most regular application decisions until May.

oh interesting! I didn't realize that schools would take into consideration that someone might still decide to go somewhere else after paying the seat deposit. Is there any benefit to putting in a deposit early?

I don't think so. If you're like me though, I just like to get things out of the way.

For those who have been admitted (congrats!), can you post your GPA and LSAT scores?

Re: GA State c/o 2018
I haven't sent in my deposit yet because I am waiting to hear about scholarships and financial aid. The admissions rep I spoke to said scholarship information may come out as early as January but last year they didn't hear back about scholarships until March. I think March sounds about right.

I'm waiting as well. I called to ask about it monday and they said they will start going over scholarship stuff in the next couple of weeks. Theres no reason to rush into sending in the deposit I guess, but I really hope we find out before march!!

Ok, thank you! I went under review around the same time with similar stats. Hoping to hear something soon as GA State is one of my top choices.
Congrats!

Re: GA State c/o 2018
I was told that March would probably be the earliest for scholarship information. I looked back on last years thread and they started hearing about scholarships the first week of March.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
