I got an acceptance phone call from Martha Griffith yesterday afternoon with a very substantial scholarship. They even offered to pay for my flight/hotel when I come down to visit. Overall, I've been very impressed with their admissions office.

Checking in.
Does anyone know how long applications are typically under review before a decision is made?
I seem to have skipped complete and went straight from app received yesterday to under review today.
Thanks!

It seems like it's been around 1-2 weeks for most people after under review.CTuch wrote:Checking in.

Had my tour today. Met with Dean Brandon at the end of the tour. Could not have been happier overall. Alabama Law really impressed me today.

For current students:
I know Bama has a lot of out of staters and is very highly ranked for its region. How much of the class is rednecks? Will a redneck be out of place there?

Doubtful. There are rednecks everywhere Louis, you just have to find them. I don't know for a fact but I am willing to bet there are quite a few southern frat boys/rednecks at Bama law. Especially if it's anything like UF or FSU.Louis1127 wrote:For current students:

Applied 10/31, just checking in with everyone. Hoping that I hear back early next week, sounds like 10-11 days is the average, I'm just starting day 9.

Are you really asking if an redneck would be out of place somewhere in the state of Alabama? lolLouis1127 wrote:For current students:

Coming from a fellow redneck, you'll be among friends. The class isn't overwhelmed with us, but there's a healthy balance.

Ha this made me laugh a little. I think the classes have pretty good representation from all over the country, but the greater amount are from the Southeast.Louis1127 wrote:For current students:

state of alabama and the university of alabama are two vastly, vastly different worlds.PN-G bamakid wrote:Are you really asking if an redneck would be out of place somewhere in the state of Alabama? lolLouis1127 wrote:For current students:

In with $ via phone call.
Was looking mostly into Texas schools, but Alabama is making its way to the top of my list. Great Admissions

Nothing yet. I've been under review since 10/27. I even got a call from their admissions office when I went under review letting me know that it takes about 2 weeks to receive a decision.rubberplant2020 wrote:So any new news? I've been under review since 11/4

Did anyone get a full scholarship offer?
Also, any of the current students, did yall look at buying a house rather than renting? Rent seems kind of inflated.

Not really, WE though.
A dude can buy a decent house near Uni for like, 80k, with 3 bedroom 2 bath and a yard. The mortgage would be a lot cheaper than a similarly priced house or condo. One could live in that for three years, then have a rental property to earn additional income post graduation.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
