I got mine the 22nd. Hmm. I was rejected in this past cycle, though I did apply very very late and their decision came very late as well. No idea what it means. Mine was unsolicited as well.darla2013 wrote:yes, last week, unsolicited.

Ah, how late is very very late? I figure an unsolicited waiver is evidence of a good shot at admission, but I could be wrong.
Also, I was worried about not getting waivers from other schools/a PT invite from Duke because my transcripts hadn't yet been processed by LSAC last week, but the Vandy/Emory emails came before the transcript processing. I guess they just rely on LSAT score? Maybe self-reported GPA?

Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2018 applicants
Right, but to receive some waivers, at least, an official transcript processed by LSAC isn't necessary. I haven't seen a PT invite from Duke yet, but getting the waivers last week gave me hope that Duke wouldn't ignore me for not having the tscipt. Sorry if previous post misleading.

Vandy does decently well in Chicago, there are several 3L's going there after graduation. Not sure about the rest of the state.imKMart wrote:Got one today and decided to finish my application because of itMtnGinger wrote:Another waive of fee waivers today for those of us that didn't get them the first time. Wondering if any current students had knowledge of this.

Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2018 applicants
Thank you. I should clarify I only care about Chicago really. The rest of the state has a pretty small legal market.BearLaw wrote:Vandy does decently well in Chicago, there are several 3L's going there after graduation. Are you from Chicago? If you don't have strong ties to Chicago, you aren't likely to do well, even with good grades. CHI firms are much more ties-sensitive than one might think. If you have ties, you'll still need really good grades.imKMart wrote:Got one today and decided to finish my application because of itMtnGinger wrote:Another waive of fee waivers today for those of us that didn't get them the first time. Family lives here. Lived here my whole life. Went to UG here. Worked here. I'm happy to hear they are tie-sensitive. I have no intention of living anywhere elsearklaw13 wrote:Are you from Chicago?
