Where did Spivey get his 8% drop from?? LSAC hasn't released the data yet. Of course we all wish it were true but it's a suprise considering what happpened this cycle.

I think he's pretty reliable. And why would it be a surprise? Feb numbers were up slightly, but overall there last couple years has been a vast downwards trend..MikeJD wrote:Where did Spivey get his 8% drop from?? LSAC hasn't released the data yet. Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
I sent in my transcript just to see how LSAC would interpret it (and to see GPA/LSAT percentiles at my school... WOW @ those), but I have to resend at the end of summer because I'm taking classes.90convoy wrote:Do most of you have your transcripts sent?

Just went to send them yesterday. Should have done it earlier, would give me something interesting to look at on my LSAC profile besides the green LSAT boxes.90convoy wrote:Do most of you have your transcripts sent?

Checking in! Let the panic begin.
Also reading this and feeling bad about not spending more time on the LSAT, and going to work and stuff instead. But that is why I only got a 170.
Transcripts sent and received, and I do have a draft of the PS done and being edited by people. Next big hurdle is LORs (LsOR?)

Checking in!
I have already drafted my personal statement but I'm having trouble thinking of a diversity statement since my personal statment mentions some aspects of diversity already. Any ideas would be helpful.
Also should I send my transcripts already or wait if I'm taking summer classes still?

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Hey all,
That 8% drop sounds about right. Last month, I listened in on an MSU webinar on the admissions process and the assistant dean mentioned that the number of applicants are projected to go down 6%-8% from last cycle. (He must know something.)
Also, if anyone wants to know how the DC LSAC Forum went, just PM me. If there is going to be one in a city near you, I suggest you attend. I was even able to listen in on a workshop with one of the LSAT question writers.

Do you want my age as it is now, when I apply, or when I matriculate?

Checking in! Still not 100% sold on applying this cycle, but I'm leaning toward yes. I haven't considered my PS lately, it's been a very busy summer. I'm getting my transcripts together this week, and am very iffy about receiving my LSAC GPA, my academic career has been quite interesting and although I have a ballpark number I could be completely off. Also lurking in the June waiters thread.

I signed up for the only one near me, Atlanta. It is in November though, I plan on applying as soon as I get my LORs September time frame. Should I still go to the the Forum, or perhaps to wait to apply until after it?blue182king wrote:Hey all,

I've been to like 12 of these forums lol. I do recommend going if you can/want, but there's nothing you'll learn there that you can't learn here on TLS.RCSOB657 wrote:I signed up for the only one near me, Atlanta. I'm curious about the LSAC Forums -- do you find them helpful? If so, why? I hear you can usually get fee waivers at a lot of the tables.RCSOB657 wrote:I signed up for the only one near me, Atlanta. Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Checking in after lurking on the June waiters thread for a while. I told myself I wouldn't sign up because I don't want to get too neurotic about the application cycle, but it feels really good to have a community where I can admit that I am thinking/worrying about this all the time. I'm sure my friends and family are so sick of it...
I've tried a draft or two of the PS, but nothing is working yet. I have ideas for the PS that sound great in my head, but as soon as I try to commit them to paper, they don't work. It's hard! I'm going to law school because of a few salient interests but writing about why I find them interesting doesn't reflect a whole lot about me or why I'd be a good law student or lawyer.
Anyone else feel like as soon as you have a draft going, even if it's terrible, all you can do is copy-edit it or tweak it around the edges, instead of totally reworking the parts that need to be redone?

I have a good friend who does admissions coaching and personal statements are his specialty. PM if you want his details, though I'm sure there are tons of consulting available on this.everything_bagel wrote:Checking in after lurking on the June waiters thread for a while. I applied two years ago and have a PS that I really like from that round. Now I have to figure out whether I want to rework it to add new work experience, or trash the whole thing....
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
