Take that back--just got an update. It might be that everyone is getting one...lawskewl13 wrote:I didn't get an updatebritrf wrote:Also confirming status checker update. I wonder if everyone got an update?. I'm really on the low end of their numbers though, so this is probably a good sign for the people that got one!

Updated as well. Does anyone know if you can defer enrollment a year if you get in off reserve? Just weighing options.

Re: On Reserve at Cornell c/o 2017
Not to be a negative Nancy here, but after reading through last year's thread, a lot of people had status updates and didn't get in. Some people without status changes also got off of reserve.
(Edit: my status changed today as well.)
Also, I unfortunately don't think deferring would be much of an option. The criteria for picking from the waitlist/reserve changes from year to year, and the original reserve pool was made up of "several hundred" candidates. Cornell is also notorious for giving you a very short window to decide whether or not you are actually attending.

Thanks for your voice of reason. Although we are all very hopeful, it's good to realize that a status change date doesn't mean we will be admitted or not. From what I read from last year though, it seems to indicate that things will finally start moving. So hopefully this horrible wait will end soon!mes10d wrote:Not to be a negative Nancy here, but after reading through last year's thread, a lot of people had status updates and didn't get in. Re: On Reserve at Cornell c/o 2017
I don't know about anyone else here, but this is getting to be ridiculous. I applied in January, waited 2 months to go complete, then another month and a half before bing placed on reserve. They were *explicitly clear* that reserve was not a waitlist and that I would be considered as any other applicant still. Yet here we are, weeks after the second deposit deadline and STILL crickets. At this point, I need to sign a lease if I want any hope to live at a good place for next year (no matter where I go) and I still haven't even been waitlisted here yet. I paid 80 dollars to get a decision for fucks sake. I want to go to Cornell but clearly they don't give half a fuck about their applicants. I called last Monday and was told verbatim "you will hear from us by Wednesday". It's 4 days later since that guaranteed day and still NOTHING.
So fuck off Cornell. I hope you accept me so that I can call you and remind you how shitty you've treated me. Rot in hell, admissions committee. I want my money back. Grow a pair and reject people already, your indecision reeks of weakness and speaks to the low character present at your university.

If it makes you feel any better, I submitted my application 9/21.

I submitted in either October or November(can't remember). I'm sure we'll hear something this week. I'd be shocked if they pushed it farther than that.moralsentiments wrote:lwschool2014 wrote:I don't know about anyone else here, but this is getting to be ridiculous. Looks like a lot of people heard about 7-10 days after the first reserve status date change, so news next week would be consistent with last year.

I don't want to get people's hopes up too much but I just withdrew on Friday. I figure maybe some of you would appreciate knowing...maybe it's one more spot for one of you! Didn't have much scholarship money though, so if it goes back into a pool I probably didn't replenish it much lol.

Would you mind saying how much scholarship $ you had? Or PM me. Also did you pay both deposits? Did you withdraw after getting in off another wait list?

It's more of that they are just cowards for refusing to ding or actually WL us. Make a decision for Christ sake. For Ivy League lawyers they sure are acting like a bunch of pussies. Reject me or refund me, this reserve list is bullshit

This process is actually not nearly as frustrating as NU's was. We should know something this week.
