Checking in, WL'ed at 4 schools (with a de facto WL at a fifth) and withdrawn from all but one (GULC), which I'll be riding to the bitter end

Re: I HEREBY PROCLAIM THAT I GOT OFF A WAITLIST (2014 Edition)
Accepted off WL 4/16 by Richmond. Applied 1st week of March, decision mid-late March (whenever that big last wave came out, I can't find my letter).
gpa far <25%, lsat >75%
offered 30k/yr scholarship, no stips
no LOCI, interview, etc.
Was called early morning the day after deposit deadline by Dean Rahman.
Declined/Withdrew (had just decided to retake and better prepare my mind; had emailed another school the night before, was about to get to Richmond, but the offer definitely made me reconsider. Very nice environment/culture)
Riding one other, my dream school. I'm kind of torn because I want to retake, set myself up for more money, refresh my academic skills (NTS, older), so naturally, withdraw. But it's my dream school. However, without money, not going to happen right now. But I'm just holding on to the dream.

Checking in... Uwash, UNC, and looks like GMU will be sending me a letter any day now. I'll likely withdraw from GMU.
Why doesn't it help to have been a life long, diehard fan of somebody's (cough cough Carolina cough) basketball team?

Hey, guys. Probably can't afford any of the schools I'm WL at even if I get off the list, but going ahead and sticking it out.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I'm riding on Berkeley's WL. I would love to go there, but even if I got in, would I go? Not sure. I don't know if I want that kind of debt.

I'm also in that group where my reward for getting off the WL is a t-14 at sticker. But part of me just wants to have the honor of getting in at a t-14...

Umm, fun? I call it hopeful torture. Sad to say, getting in, but not getting the right $ assistance will be a death knell for this dream (this cycle at least). I would hate to burn bridges by being admitted then saying no, but I can't let go of the hope.

6 waitlists with two probably incoming. Withdrew from one, will likely do the same for another, and I'll be riding all the rest... my top four choices are among them.

Re: I HEREBY PROCLAIM THAT I GOT OFF A WAITLIST (2014 Edition)
Originally waitlisted at a whopping 8 schools. Which isn't really that many considering I applied to almost 30 with a lot of reaches. Just got off the WL at Indiana-B with 75k total. I had really almost written off the schools I was waitlisted at but now I am feeling a lot more positive about some of them.
eta - no interviews or LOCI.

Same. My choices are a decent regional with almost no debt, or relying on LRAP at a T-14.Eaturgreenz wrote:I'm also in that group where my reward for getting off the WL is a t-14 at sticker. But part of me just wants to have the honor of getting in at a t-14...
