Not officially checking in, just wanted to wish all my brothers and sisters in arms luck on your next leg of the CLS voyage.

So generally you're supposed to send a LOCI after you've been waitlisted, but what if I already sent one after being held? Do I write another one that's more or less the same? Or just a short email saying I'm still interested?

I'd write a second LOCI personally, just approach it from a different angle this time.mellow wrote:So generally you're supposed to send a LOCI after you've been waitlisted, but what if I already sent one after being held? Re: Columbia Reserve C/O 2017
I have read my reserve e-mail very carefully. I does not solicit an LOCI. In fact, it says that if they want further information they will ask for it.
Note that I was held and was asked for an LOCI, which I sent at the end of March, so my e-mail may differ from those who were never held.
Therefore, I am limiting myself to a brief letter explaining that I remain very interested in Columbia.
Just my .02

In regards to? Probably won't be much reserve movement for a bit, especially given CLS' low WL utilization in the past.soko wrote:Anyone heard anything?

I remember reading somewhere that first reserves usually had some movement late May/early June in the past. Can anyone confirm??

Last year a few people got an email about talking to the admissions committee around the third week of May, and I think most of them were accepted. Here's hoping!!paperrev wrote:I remember reading somewhere that first reserves usually had some movement late May/early June in the past. Can anyone confirm??

Checking in.
Considering writing a LOCI but I am already uncertain about the idea of NYU at sticker (an option for me, if you would call it that [I do but have my reasons and it's a terrifying thought at times]) and am unsure if CLS would represent a significantly better option. As a bit of a splitter (at or slightly above/below 25 for GPA and at or slightly below 75 for LSAT in the T14) I don't expect to get any $ from CLS. I live in NYC and don't much care for the idea of relocating, but could for $$.
I want big law experience but have a very specific direction I want to take it, with background and work experience to help guide me to that area after firm work.
Worth writing that to them and sticking it out for a bit?

I'd go for it personally. Were you Held? If you were held and sent in a LOCI during that period that addressed the same thing, then no. Otherwise, I would.BuddyHoller wrote:Checking in.

Using last year's timeline, I would guess the earliest we hear something is next week.
Also, I think schools receive LSAC's overlap report (number of people who have multiple deposits) May 15th. I think there will be some movement soon after - followed by a lovely obsession with inbox(1).

Don't know about everyone else, but my reserve letter stated that they don't begin reviewing reserve applicants until the end of May. If that's true, I wouldn't expect movement until after memorial day, at the earliest. More likely, people will start hearing back in June.

Decided against Columbia at the last minute and got an email today saying they assumed I'd made other plans- reminded me to come on here and say good luck and hope one of y'all get my spot! Good luck!

That is kind of what I figured, but was hoping maybe someone had heard some good news early.tsoprano wrote:Don't know about everyone else, but my reserve letter stated that they don't begin reviewing reserve applicants until the end of May.
