Never got any email about interviews, never even knew there were held interviews. I wonder if that's a bad sign

Checking in. If any of us get accepted is the assumption that it's going to be at sticker?

Also, this. I was wondering does anyone have any information about scholarships for held applicants?

I'm trying to decide if I should write a LOCI for Northwestern. I did all four of the optional essays, and I just did an on campus hold interview. I also sent a Why Northwestern in with my original application. I'm not sure if there's anything new for me to add, but I also know that Northwestern seems to like it when candidates submit every piece of information they can. I'm honestly not sure what to do here. Do you guys think I should write a LOCI?

Just called admissions, there is no hard deadline for the held essays. She said try to get them in soon as they will start to review held applicants in the first few weeks of april.

Thanks for this; I was going crazy since I didn't want to be pressed for time on this essays. Someone said they were due tomorrow!

very very likely.... My reasoning is as follows. Holds will start getting acceptances once admits withdraw. probability that an admit with a low or no scholarships withdraws is significantly higher than other way around. So there would be much less money in the pot.

anyhooo my guess is that most of us will get waitlisted, which is no better than held anyway and hold is not much different than submitting your application very early and waiting for an answer. which is not much better than not submitting.

So getting waitlisted is the same as not applying. phew.

I wish they'd send out dings instead of holds for people that have no chance. I'm not exactly sure if I'm even competitive. Wrote 4 essays and am shelling out $400 for a roundtrip flight to Chicago (in addition to taking work off). Wondering if this is all a big waste of time and $$$ since I'm most likely a ding anyway.

End rant.

I'm in the same boat, taking off work 2 days + flight/hotel. But I think it's worth it if NU is a top choice.

I don't think your numbers are that bad for Northwestern.

They're not bad but they're definitely not good. I'm below median on both counts.

I'm below their LSAT median by a lot but I'm not below their GPA median. I'm also an AA male URM, so I hope that counts for something.

I paid $800 for a last minute flight because I saw an opening in March and thought that would be the last round of interviews before decisions on held apps. Seeing all those spots open in April hurt a little!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
