My email said 2/21 I thought.

Also, Penn has acknowledged they got my response. So it does take a couple days

Checking in.

Question: What do people write the additional essay on? Will it actually affect admission much?

Also will be retaking in June if anyone cares to join.

Checking in. Yeah the deadline is 2/21. I need to get on that essay. So should this be another Why Penn or are they wanting something more broad?

Is the deadline 2/21 for any essay?

The deadline is for notifying them that you wish to remain on the WL. I actually don't think there is a deadline for submitting additional materials, but I'll have to go back and check to make sure.

I think that it would be mid-May when they say that they'll start reviewing the waitlist. I'm going to try to have mine in by the deadline to accept a spot on the waitlist.

Hellooo checking in. I see a lot of fellow splitters here :D

Can someone explain the stats to me? What is the distinction between "accepted" and "accepted -> attending"? Also, does "waitlisted" include "waitlisted->withdrawn"?
2005/2006

Accepted: 212
Accepted -> Attending: 37
Accepted -> Withdrawn: 105
% Accepted -> Withdrawn: 49.5%
Waitlisted: 140
Waitlisted -> Withdrawn: 50

WL -> Accepted: 14

So was anyone on here deferred? I know it's different but as far as I'm concerned we're just in a different kind of purgatory, right?

Very, very reluctantly checking in.

VERY reluctantly.

Here's hoping my new LSAT score (13 more days...) will punt me out of the waitlist?

Recently sent in some materials (don't want to be too specific). It sucks knowing they won't even start looking at us again until May.

W/L last night :(

How should I respond to the W/L email? Just a "Thanks for the update, I accept a position on the W/L.', or should I say something more?

Wait... Even if we send in something VERY compelling, they won't give us a second glance until May? Oh... fuck this...

What are people's thoughts on visiting the admissions office? When I said that I got WLed on the main thread someone suggested popping up for a visit. I'm not sure if I think that would help or hurt. I don't want them to think, dude, we don't have time to be answering questions/touring around a WLer while we're smack in the middle of prime time for wooing actual admitted candidates. I do want to show them I'm serious though, if it could help at all.

Do you guys have any strong feelings on this?

I think a visit is good, but don't just pop in to the admissions office. Email them saying you would like to visit, and you wondered when a good time to do that would be. They will set it up for you I'm sure.

Just re-read my post and it definitely seemed like I was saying I would just show up :oops:
I would definitely email them ahead of time! Thanks for weighing in LS22
