Your numbers are higher than mine, if that info helps. I have a feeling that scholarships are awarded based on multiple factors including public interest dedication, financial need, etc. - because if they were strictly based on numbers I just can't see how I would have gotten an award (yet another really wonderful thing about CUNY, they seem to truly value and consider applicants holistically). To out of area applicants who aren't familiar with the CUNY system, their budget is pretty limited relative to private schools and even many public schools - they can't throw scholarships at applicants left and right (I think they gave about 25 last year). BUT I have known quite a few CUNY undergrad professors and they are some of the most dedicated, highly qualified teachers anywhere. The CUNY system gives you an INCREDIBLE value, and if the law school is anything like undergrad your education will be worth far more than you paid for it, even at full price and especially compared with private schools. I've also heard that they offer a lot more 3L course listings relevant to the NY bar than many of the schools around here, so if you want to practice in NY that's another bonus.Ramrezyeh wrote:Hey everyone!
I was hoping to find a board dedicated to CUNY 2017. I was accepted about two weeks ago. CUNY is one of my top choices at the moment. Finding a living situation is a concern for me being from Buffalo and I know finding a roommate would be necessary for my budget.
PattyCake gives me hope that maybe there will be a small scholarship coming later.. 163/2.9.. that could make my decision slightly easier.
In case you can't guess, I have a lot of family and friends who began their educations in the CUNY system and owe their success to its supportive community.
