My initial thought on reading the OP was in line with most people saying why the hell is this thread needed. You knew to say you were a URM AA so why should getting in with numbers that are subpar for non-URM be any surprise.

I wasn't aware either. I'm not URM but I am really glad I clicked on this thread. I think seeing the actual numbers about how rare a score of the 160s is actually helps give the URM bump alot more legitimacy than I had previously given it. 300 scores in the 160s is really not that many at all.

It is a bit weird for this to have its own thread, but since we're having the conversation:

URM or not, I don't find getting in with numbers below 25% TOO outlandish. Law schools are all about numbers, but those numbers exist on a range. If the OP had said "got into NYU Below the Scale Completely" I'd have a raised eyebrow or two. Yes it's a bit difficult to measure what the bottom numbers are for GPA and LSAT, but with all the calculations going on in TLS, I'm sure someone has some pretty good estimates somewhere. I mean, at a certain GPA/LSAT floor, admissions offers don't exist.

In short, congrats and kudos. At the same time, there's a reason the numbers are published as ranges rather than definite targets.

I am URM AA with a math major. Patent eligible.

Math major on it's own doesn't make you patent eligible...

I assume he was informing us that he is patent eligible (for reasons other than his math major).
