oh thank god. it says the same cryptic message for me. At least we know our applications aren't in the "maybe" pile aka being held until the school has more of an idea what their applicant pool looks like and dont hear till like feb or march like univ of florida is doing to me.

I have the same irritatingly cryptic status now too.
Guess that means I should be expecting some mail sometime. I'm pretty sure I'm above both 75ths.

Current 1L at USC here and available to answer any questions y'all may have. I'll only be on here for a bit right now, but I'll check back periodically. I can say to the above posters that if you're getting that status message this early, it is more than likely a good sign. Feel free to post here or PM me.

I received a thick, small envelope today from USC. Haven't been able to get home to read it yet, but it is there. Will update this post when I open it!

Edit: Admitted, with a merit scholarship equivalent to about $20,000 per year. Pretty great, really considering USC now!

I was accepted yesterday! Thick small envelope with scholarship info : I received in-state tuition (I am from the North haha) pl;us 4k so it comes out to 20 k is what I'll pay I am gonna negotiate that later...

For anyone wondering what they're gonna get money wise - I'm 159 LSAT and 3.75 GPA and my undergrad is from there.

Does anyone think being at "file complete" for 6 weeks merits a phone call? I'm a bit concerned. Did everyone's checker update as they went through the review process?

They are on break right now, so I'd wait until after the first week or so of January if you're still concerned. Mine updated to "in review" and sat there for a couple of weeks before a decision was rendered. They may be waiting on December scores at this point, so I don't think it's cause for worry.

I'm in the same boat, except it's been over two months (almost). I don't want to whinge of course - but it's good to know that I'm not alone here. By the same token, I can express my solidarity with the other waiters...

They said those are mostly awarded after the first year of law school and that my scholarship of 24 k out of state is one of the larger packages they give out and basically I am getting nothing else out of them.

Looks like I'll still be in 100k of debt.

From what I understand, trying to get more money from a public school is like picking hen's teeth. The state isn't exactly rolling in the dough either, so I wouldn't expect anyone having much luck with getting them to budge. "It's not you, it's me." -SC

At least we aren't going to dental school though. Some of those kids are looking at quarter/half a million easily.
