Checking in, went complete a couple weeks ago and had interview last week. Like almost everyone else, it went great. He was real nice and it was super casual.

Going to apply this week. I'm from Canada - will they still have me do an alumni interview?

thanks!! i just had my interview and reading this right before it made me less anxious!OliveBC wrote:From what I can tell it was pretty much the same. Why law, why Vanderbilt, what do you like to do outside of school, most rewarding extracurricular experience, just stuff from my resume. Applying soon but really wanting a fee waiver first. I don't know if I should wait to submit or not.

Re: Vanderbilt Law c/o 2017 applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Just want to echo the relaxed feel of the interview. My interviewer gave the usual questions (why Vandy, tell me about yourself, etc.), but the majority of my interview was just a conversation about the school. I don't think anything from my resume was even mentioned, which was fine with me. We also talked a little about my UG, because the interviewer is an alumni from my UG as well. Glad to complete my application with that, and join the waiting boat with you guys!

Re: Vanderbilt Law c/o 2017 applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I did my interview Thursday, and my interviewer was wonderful. She didn't even really ask me anything about me; she just started with "What can I tell you about Vanderbilt?" She even spent some time talking about how much she loved living in Atlanta near Emory. The interview achieved its purpose, I think, because she definitely made Vandy look great. I was overly prepared and overly nervous. If you're stressing the interview, don't!

Current 1L also available for questions if anyone has any. Don't really feel like making a new thread. I'll answer here or in PM.

My online status says "application complete" but the little message at the top says "Your application is complete and in the review process."
So, does that mean it's in review or what? Will it change to in review? Is anybody's status anything other than complete? Thanks!

I was going to apply regardless, but I got the fee waiver last night. I submitted my interview request. Ready to ride.

Submitted 11/5, complete 11/6 and an alum from Goldman Sachs contacted me to schedule an interview today. This is a super fast turnaround time!

yet another person reiterating how relaxed the interview is. I was matched with someone who did their undergrad at my alma mater, which was great, and he was very laidback and even asked about any general law school questions he could answer. He definitely made Vanderbilt look great.

has anyone had any luck with soliciting a fee waiver? I already submitted all my other apps and vandy is the last one i'm waiting on.

Submitted today.
Had interview with alum yesterday - like most people have said, it was very relaxed and somewhat general questions, followed by the alum selling Vanderbilt and the experience to me. I was also matched with someone who did undergrad at my alma mater. I got a lot of insight from it!
