Re: George Washington C/O 2017
FWIW, I had a phone conference with one of the adcomms on the phone after meeting him at a law fair. He said to not expect any decisions (even for ED) until mid-december. Although, they may get them much sooner (and hope so!)

Checking in! Also noticed the change in status date to 11/6...maybe it means they've started actually reviewing the applications?

Application status has been "incomplete" for nearly a week now. Does it just take a few days or what?

Can anyone guess how competitive a 163/3.8x would be for the part time program?

3.8x will be competitive as a GPA. the 163 LSAT for PT should be alright, considering that the overall median LSAT is 165. I'm no palm reader, but I would say you have a decent shot.

I don't think gwu is gonna give you a "great shot" at doc biglaw. Only 27% of the class got biglaw,IgosduIkana wrote:but for a great shot at DC biglaw, yes please!

Checking in. And also, 27% got big law. Correct. And D.C.'s big competitor, Georgetown had about 39% of its students join the big law ranks - a difference of 12%. Considering how many people attend GW for government positions, nonprofit law experience, policy law, etc., it's fair to say that GW provides a decent shot especially in light of the legal market. Don't let percentages get the best of you.jk148706 wrote:I don't think gwu is gonna give you a "great shot" at doc biglaw. Agreed. GWU is an incredibly solid school. It ain't AU.The Dark Kite wrote:Checking in. And also, 27% got big law. Correct. Checking in. Applied last week. I love DC, but to be honest I know next to nothing about the school- other than its ranking. I think I have a pretty good shot at getting in and maybe snagging some $$ (3.6 and 167), so can, who knows a lot about the campus and the program in general shed some light for me?

Your LSAT puts you in a really good position. Entering class median is sitting at 165. I've visited the campus before. Overall it's really nice. It has the older look on the outside, however it is filled with nice amenities inside; classrooms and law library are all remodeled. The law school is right next to the undergrad campus, so you still have that "college" feel. DC has a great metro system which makes it easy to get around just about anywhere. I would say the only downside with the GW university area is that COL is fairly expensive and Foggy Bottom (the school's neighborhood) is quite pricey. I hope that helps.Thiggs wrote:Checking in. Does GW send fee waivers?
I want to apply as a safety/chance at full scholly, I went there for UG and I'm so god damn frustrated at this school for basically robbing me for 4 years that I don't feel like giving them one more cent. If I get a fee waiver though, I'm in.

I should note that I applied last week or so. Has anyone seen any movement beyond the first application complete date?NoDayButToday wrote:Nope - still application complete, early November.

Status checker changed to "Decision Made" today! However, it says I must wait up to TEN business days for my decision to arrive via EMAIL. Strange.
RD. Submitted October. Under review early November. PM for stats.

Decision made for me too. I also am confused why it would take ten business days for an email to arrive.14G wrote:Status checker changed to "Decision Made" today! However, it says I must wait up to TEN business days for my decision to arrive via EMAIL. Strange.
