This. I never did find anything on SMU's site that answered the "binding or nonbinding" question, so I emailed the admissions department and they confirmed that it's nonbinding, and said that you don't have to do anything special to select the Early Decision option. Any application that was complete by November first goes in the ED pool and will receive a decision by the end of January.

Mine says "application completed" as well, with today's date as the "current status date".

I've been completed since 10/30. Based on last year's SMU thread, "Application Completed" could mean a decision has been made. I think the soonest that we could find out about our decisions is mid-December.

Just checked my status and it said ADMITTED! So surprised I got a decision so quick. My application went complete on 10/30. SMU giving out decisions in November?! This can't be real!

Just checked my status-checker as well, and I'm in! (165/4.0) I submitted early on (application received 9/18). They just called me mid-post! Official acceptance materials will be sent out next Monday.

In today via phone call! Ditto the above regarding admissions materials being mailed out on Monday. The phone call was short, so I had to call back when I realized they hadn't specified FT or PT and they reiterated it was for FT, so thats good! A bonus is that the first seat deposit isn't due until 4/1 I believe, I've had some give a deadline of 1-2 weeks after admission.

I applied on 11/4 and I applied FT. I'm at (approximately) old medians.
