Re: FSU C/O 2017 (2013-2014 APPLICANTS)
Hey guys, I'll be applying tomorrow if I can finish this personal statement tonight.
I'll be applying with a 3.57/158, I'd say my chances are pretty good, however I'm a bit concerned that I probably wont be seeing any $$$. I don't intend on retaking. FSU and UF are my top choices.
EDIT* how flexible would you guys say you can be with the personal statement topics?

piggy backing off the last question, how strict are they on that word limit.

I'm not sure how strict they are on the limit, but I played it safe and went under 500. You can probably use the same topic that you've used for your other personal statements.

I just used the "rigorousness of undergraduate course" topic from the list that they give.AT9 wrote:I'm not sure how strict they are on the limit, but I played it safe and went under 500. You can probably use the same topic that you've used for your other personal statements.

I doubt they count word for word. But why risk it?vicpin5190 wrote:piggy backing off the last question, how strict are they on that word limit.

it's not that i want to risk it, it's just i spent a good chunk of time on my personal statement and then for it to be too long is frustrating is all. I'll live and deal with it.TirantMartorell wrote:I doubt they count word for word. But why risk it?vicpin5190 wrote:piggy backing off the last question, how strict are they on that word limit.
I still have time until I apply since I haven't taken the LSAT yet so there is time to prep or edit my current PS to match the criteria.

I got an email today inviting me to apply for scholarships. The email said that instead of just giving out $, they invite "a select number" of admitted applicants to to apply. Interesting.itachiuchiha wrote:Anyone get their scholly info yet?

I doubt that's the only email they'll send out about scholarships.

this is the worst a school can do to alienate students...AT9 wrote:I got an email today inviting me to apply for scholarships. did they flat out send an offer or did they send you an email telling you to apply for merit scholarships?

Based on a previous post by the same person, they send an e-mail.itachiuchiha wrote:did they flat out send an offer or did they send you an email telling you to apply for merit scholarships?
I got the same thing today, it's an application for a scholarship, so it seems they don't work out scholarships when deciding to admit/deny/wait-list.

Did you write that paragraph at the end of the scholarship application? Or just apply for merit aid?

Yes, I got an e-mail and applied about a week ago.PalmBay wrote:Based on a previous post by the same person, they send an e-mail.itachiuchiha wrote:did they flat out send an offer or did they send you an email telling you to apply for merit scholarships?

I think so - I just mentioned some reasons why I'd be getting no family support during law school because I checked the box for need-based aid. Though, it appears that my scholarship is about on par with what you'd expect given the median drops. Also, it has no stips!mvonh001 wrote:Did you write that paragraph at the end of the scholarship application?
