Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I stalked the past two years' Harvard threads waiting for the time when I would be ready to apply. I'm retaking in October and I'll be so excited if my numbers are competitive enough to apply

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Good luck everyone. However only around 1200 will receive a JS1 and not all applicants with very few exceptions as stated in the first post http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2012/ ... ool-Skype/. Unless of course there is something new this year that I am not aware of, but I can't imagine them, even as nice as they are, doing over 5000 interviews.Common Acronyms
JS1: Invitation to interview with either Jessica Soban (Admissions Dean) or Karen Buttenbaum (Admissions Dean). With very few exceptions, all applicants have this interview. It is conducted, again with few exceptions, over Skype. Interviews often last anywhere from 8 to 20 minutes.

Maybe he meant "accepted applicants" ?eph wrote:Good luck everyone. Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Harvard is as democratic as any other law school in that they will accept applications from anyone. The interviews are by invitation. Last year there were 1000-1200 interviews which resulted in 850 odd offers and 560 or so who will attend. Accepted applicants is not a term that applies in that over 250 to 350 people who get interviews do not get offers and more than 4000 people whose applications they accept and review are not interviewed.Maybe he meant "accepted applicants" ?

I think you are misinterpreting what I meant by "accepted applicant". By that, I meant applicants they accept to attend, not applications they accept to review.eph wrote:Harvard is as democratic as any other law school in that they will accept applications from anyone. Guys, not to go all LSATey here, but "almost all accepted applicants get an interview" doesn't necessarily mean "almost all those interviewed get accepted..."

I will exit this discussion and leave the points of clarification to the next generation. If you need me I will be in Cambridge...attending Harvard Law. Best of luck and hope you all get the chance to attend the finest law school in the land.

Checking in!
I would love to go to HLS but sadly, I don't think it's realistic. My GPA is only slightly below the 25% so I'm banking on the October LSAT to give me a fighting chance.
sighhh, It couldn't hurt to apply anyways right?
