Judging by last year's waitlist thread, it might be a few weeks before they send out waitlist confirmations.

Agreed. They'll settle their class first after 1 May, then they'll compose the formal WL, then they'll let us know/hopefully have a few spots in the class they need to fill.

I know at least two people who are going to HLS over YLS. They admitted 231 students and have a target of 200 for the incoming class.

A lot of people I know are still on the fence about their decision.

Actually, the three people I know are still in the Facebook group, but I'm not sure why.

Current Facebook count is 216. So I guess seven people declined YLS's offer so far?

Just trying to understand the Yale waitlist confirmation email.

Are we supposed to apply for financial aid before being accepted off the waitlist? Seems to say that but that can't be true.

You should have had the option to include Yale as one of the schools when filling out your Need Access form. Assuming you did so, then they'll have you on file and will be able to give you an estimated financial aid award if you're accepted.

Not at all -- Asha wants you to accept / decline ASAP, and a financial aid award would only expedite the process.

Yep, I applied when I applied to SLS's fin aid. Exact same process, if I recall.

More people tie for first place than those who tie for second place.

Therefore, it's a greater accomplishment to tie for second.
