Where did UCI get all this money? The UC system in general is broke as helllllll. And it's not like the other UC schools are offering free deposits..

It blows me away too. Especially in Cali. As I am sure you know, they gave the entire first class full tuition paid, and heavy scholarships on the next ones. I know they take a lot of shit here on TLS, but to me, it has been pretty amazing what they have been able to do so quickly. As you said though, think about the money they have gone through - poaching faculty, no app fee, no deposit fee, no tuition for awhile, and they place 100% of their grads? Wtf?

I am really interested to see how USNWR handles them next year. What category are they week in? And I imagine there is no "years accredited" input. "Our" WUSTL may drop a rank because of them, cuse.

Yeah I didn't know UCI (as a university) existed until like 2 months ago..so i was really skeptical at first..but from a strictly numbers point of view, they're going to rank in the T25 at least if they keep it up. I'm fairly certain they'll run out of money at some point..because there's no way the University at-large is sponsoring Chemerinsky's project out of the goodness of their heart, they're gonna expect some revenue contributions at some point. But yeah I could see them becoming a potential threat to WUSTL/UMN/GW as far as the rankings game.

Dumb question (and hope it's not too unrelated), but where can I submit a deposit? I've been searching a school's "Admissions" site to no avail -- they don't have to be physical, do they? Should I simply email admissions?
