I'm happy at either GW or GULC pt as I plan to continue working while going to LS but if I get in to a T10 ft program I may just go full time. Anyone with similar sentiments?

I haven't actually started yet (just got accepted a few days ago by email).

I think it's a great program for someone in my situation, but I'm still waiting to hear from GULC. I do worry about the workload a bit but I think that as long as you can work your butt off for the first two years or so, the 3rd and 4th years should get easier based on what I've heard. Plus I have a good, flexible job so it shouldn't be that bad.

Since this is a thread where a bunch of part time people are posting, i figured id ask for some input about this. What level of debt do you guys think is an "acceptable" amount of debt for a part time student? How many people are going to go part time so they can still keep working? Im guessing most part time students are at leats 25 +, and have spouses/jobs/other commitments.Personally, ive applied to a few full time programs, (and have gotten in), but Id like to see how much scholarship money Id get. It would have to be a full ride or close to one for me to quit my job, and go to school full time. How much debt does the average part time student carry? (any ideas). I mean if im going to end up having the same amount of debt over 4 years of schools (w/ working) as if i went 3 years (w/o having to work), id go full time for sure.

I work with attorneys now, and I asked one how he did law school full time and was able to pay for school and living exspenses. He said he took out loans for schoool to cover tuition and books. And seperate loans just to live off of. So, what I am thinking is that even if tuition cost the same for FT and PT, pt means no loans for living.

1L sucked Arse, but that's pretty much the same for every other 1L in America.
I work full time so it was extra tough trying to balance work/family/school 1st year. Especially with PT students that didn't work. I made it through, and 2L is so much more manageable.
PT students miss out on some stuff, but for the most part we are fully immersed in the campus and the ability to make connections.

Fordham does offer scholarships to PT student's, but as you have heard the school is cheap. Good luck with that!

Just got into May PT at Cardozo

SMU PT - admitted via phone call 1/28, still waiting on scholarship information.

All my other apps are for ful-time programs, but it's 99.9% that I'll be at SMU in the fall. Not having to sell a house and move my family is worth a lot to me. Plus, I can substitute and tutor here if I want to, and once things settle down I'll probably want to.

anyway, i think if i get into smu part time, and semi decent $, i'll probably pick smu over the full time admits ive gotten. Chemteacher, do you teach HS chem? Im graduating this may from ut arlington w/ degree in chem are you planning on going into IP?

congrats. There are some part time people who post on the AU thread. AU was my first admit (and really quick one at that). The AU thread has a lot of anti AU posts... it seems that it's mostly FT students talking about cost of AU vs job prospects etc. I agree that the school does costy a lot,and isnt generous with scholarships. That being said, PT applicants tend to look for different things in a school, the PT people who posted on the AU thread sound pretty positive about their experiences.
