So did everyone else get an email promising a final decision by 2/28?

Good to know that Georgetown will at least make us wait only till the end of February...

I was held at Cornell and UT as well and they will probably not get back to me until April...

Well, Georgetown could always waitlist us after...so...I'm not taking it as a guarantee of a decision.

And, I'm also held at Cornell, so I feel your pain :(.

That is true, but hopefully the drop in applicants will be in our favor. Also, hopefully we hear back before the Feb. 28th deadline!

Just got the deferral e-mail, joining the party ITT. What's the consensus on LOCIs? Worth it, or just a nuisance?

So your saying I've got a chance.......!?!?!/

My deferral, and the promise to get back to give me a decision by 2/28, showed up while I was right in the middle of a meeting with a new client. I'm not sure if he appreciated the string of obscenities I yelled as a result of it.....

Anyone have any idea as to when they might start re-reviewing our applications?

For those of you who are submitting LOCIs, where do you send it to? There wasn't any "send any additional info here" e-mail address in the defer letter. In fact, the letter specifically notes that no additional info is necessary and CAS will continue to update as needed.

What does one put ideally in a LOCI. Is short and sweet the way to go, or is detailed and specific the best. Any thoughts/experience?

So here's another question: do y'all think that visiting the campus in January and trying to set up an appt with the admissions office is a worthwhile expenditure? I don't know if they have official campus tours like they do in the fall (all that's noted on the web site is that visiting classes is admitted-only), or if it's frowned upon. I'm going to call them tomorrow to get more info about it. I figure at the very least, it would give me something substantive to write about in my LOCI. Thoughts?

That sounds like something that would fit into a LOCI nicely. I've been debating whether or not to send in a LOCI since the e-mail says no additional information is needed. Hopefully we start getting re-reviewed soon now that the new LSAT scores are out!

Held :(
With a 3.1 I guess I shouldn't complain.

I gave a LOCI to Georgetown today. I just sent it to their generic admissions email. I included my LSAC # in the body of the email as well as in the attached document.

They responded pretty quickly, for what it's worth.

I was held yesterday as well. I am puzzled however because my status has not changed at all since my application went complete on 11/26. I was extended a group interview invitation that I accepted in late December. Has this happened to anyone else?

I did send out an LOCI yesterday via mail--hoping that helps to clarify why GULC is a top choice for me.

Yay, best of luck at Hahvahd, or wherever you end up.

BTW, spring info sessions/tour dates for GULC campus are on the website now. I'm going to one next week, hopefully get some info and something to write in my LOCI.

I threw a little levity into my LOCI. Hope it catches their attention.

Exactly the same boat.

Held. 166/3.74. But hey, they could've denied us now if they wanted to. Hope remains!
