Honestly, I don't know how to answer that question since I can only go off this year. Given our location there are tons of unpaid opportunities although if you are looking to get in with a big firm and get paid for it, you're likely to be disappointed (at least as a 1L).

Basically it all depends on how proactive you are/what kind of connections you have. Personally, I'm probably going to do research for a professor I hit it off with first semester and take professional responsibility in the summer. I've had one interview with a judge (not federal), but that would only be a few days a week in the summer. Personally, I don't see the appeal in working all summer and not getting paid for it, but to each his own...

Has anyone heard back from either Rutgers Camden or Newark? I've been complete since early - mid Dec and haven't heard a word.

Not a peep from either. Very surprised that it is taking this long.

Applied today to the PT program. Crossing my fingers but I'm below their medians. I applied to the Newark campus as well back in October and went complete in early November. Haven't had any movement on that application since.

Only 23 applicants on LSN. Maybe they're waiting for more applications to come in. Camden and Newark are 2 of my last 4 schools to hear back from.

Haven't heard anything or seen any movement, so I called today to see when we could expect some decisions. They said they'd be reviewing in MARCH! Anyone else surprised by this? I didn't give them my name or any specifics, it seemed like a very generic answer from them.

Yes, that is a very generic answer. Some schools are saying March and I've heard April from one school. The bottom line is schools are accepting anyone who is above or at their medians and holding off on the borderline applicants until all applications have been received.

Seems to be a bit of movement on lawschoolnumbers, albeit minimal. Anybody else hear back from admissions? Hoping for an answer soon...

I have heard back from Newark, but not Camden. No movement at all. But w/ Newark I got a letter in USPS mail without my status checker ever moving beforehand. Is Camden the same?

I wonder if the applicant pool is a lot smaller this year. There has to be a reason for the delay. According to LSN a decent amount of people had already heard by now in years past.

I think this is the case, but I am judging solely by lawschoolnumbers (only 24 applicants?!) and the quiet nature of this thread. I have gathered thus far that RU-C is trying to pick the cream of a very small crop. Since my numbers are slightly lower than their medians, I would hope that the fact that applications are down this cycle will work toward my advantage. RU-C is my #1 choice because of in-state tuition and my desire to work in the Philly market, so I am really getting antsy with each and every day that I don't get a response.

It'd be nice if they at least contacted us stating that they are going to be taking longer with decisions and why that is or update our status checkers to under review, etc. I'm still sitting at complete as of 11/7.

I agree. I've been complete since early Dec. Has anyone called?

hahaha damn every time I see this at the top of the thread I think there was a wave of decisions! Shot down again..... I think someone said they make decisions in March. Good luck to you all. Sojerz13, have you narrowed down any of your choices yet? I think we have similar numbers

I called admissions and they said it was normal that people who applied early have not heard back yet. The majority of their decisions will be made late Mar - Apr. They said if you are below their median of 162, then your app gets reviewed by the entire adcom group so it may take longer.

damn the wait!!!

I think I have it narrowed down to Drexel, St. John's, FIU, and Rutgers(pending admission). I've gotten pretty good money at all of them, just have to decide where I definitely want to live/practice after law school. I'm fairly certain I want to stay in the Philly market. How about you?

I called and was told similar..that anyone below the median would be looked at by committee. Would hear sometime in March if not sooner. Was told law day is in April so would be prior to then.

Accepted, full tuition scholarship with top 40% stip.

If I fall below then it gets reduced to 10k with 3.0 stip (which is silly because Rutgers N gave me 12k with 3.0 stip).

That's what the lady on the phone in the admissions office said. from their website:

Admissions

During 2006–2011, entering class sizes ranged from 216 to 282 full- and part-time students.
Students with a 159–165 LSAT and a 3.4 or higher undergraduate GPA have a high probability of being accepted.
Typically, decisions are made beginning in December of each year on a rolling basis.
Although admission is highly competitive, the admissions office does consider each applicant’s file individually, and special qualities may occasionally overcome lower numbers.

No, but really, I know that RC is a bit of an underrated school but when did their median become a 162? They haven't had a median that high in a few years.

I wonder if that's the median for the current apps. Maybe they plan on keeping the class small and throwing boatloads of money at people?

interesting. looks like there was a huge drop in median LSAT in 2012, but all of the other years were pretty consistent.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
