Re: Waitlisted at UVA c/o 2016
How likely is it for a waitlist candidate to get a scholarship offer? If it's between NYU and UVA both at sticker, I'd pick NYU. I'm wondering if I should send a LOCI in hopes of an acceptance and a scholarship, or if I should just take myself off the list so that somebody else can get in.

Also possible to get money off the waitlist depending on numbers.

Same boat, friends.
WL'd at UVA last week. I would just die to live in C'ville. Fell in love with it years ago!
I need to write a LOCI. Don't have a lot to update bc I am a grown-up with lots of WE, and my job doesn't change except for stuff I can't talk about (transactions). So...then my LOCIs tend to be gushy and probably unhelpful. Oh well. Will send one anyway.

I'm sure you are top of their list from the waitlist, so that's awesome for you. They love their undergrads!!!hoogs23 wrote:Resident and current student. Waitlisted in December

UVA does give money off the waitlist
If your numbers are in their range, you can definitely make a good push to get in. PM me if you have questions. Happy to help anyone

Checking in and wondering about this whole situation as well. Sent in ap four days before deadline and received waitlist on 4-1. (LSAT 161 GPA 3.97).
Does anyone know how much they weigh LOCIs etc. when considering making acceptances from the waitlist? Also how about visiting? Or just what the chances are in general of being offered acceptance? I've heard they usually have a pretty lengthy list each year... and then of course its called "soft reject"...

Dang. This WL has got to be gargantuan. I almost wish it was ranked to determine what chances we had to see if it was even worth staying on.

What are people's numbers in general? I'm 169, 3.7. Just wondering where I stand.

Can someone start up a Google doc Harvard-style for the WL people? Just to see what the pool actually looks like...

Joining the party.
Is anyone actually not waitlisted at UVA? If LSN has taught me anything, it's that there's a 70% chance that any given person you see walking down the street is waitlisted at UVA. I don't care if you're pre-law, pre-health, never been to college, still learning to crawl, you are probably on UVA's waitlist.
This is gonna be fun.

Splitter here as well. Reverse, 161 and 3.97. Honestly was shocked that they even waitlisted me with my LSAT score. also, Flynn: that is an awesome idea!!LRGhost wrote:Splitter :/nonymouse wrote:What are people's numbers in general? I'm 169, 3.7. Just wondering where I stand.

URM and massive reverse splitter here. PM for specifics.
While the WL pool in LSN is certainly enormous, keep in mind that a huge chunk of them have withdrawn.
