Just got a phone call from Mrs. Britton on the way to work this morning. They said that they sent me a scholarship packet that I "would be very pleased with." They also said that they would PDF the packet to me if I wanted. So excited!

If you go there, you're going to have to forever accept that UT=Tennessee, not Texas.
Congrats man, enjoy Knoxville (assuming you attend).

Still waiting to hear from UTK. Been under review since 11/9. 160 LSAT with 3.3 GPA. I know I'm on the bubble but I didn't think it would take as long as this. . Anyone else been under review for quite a while?

That is weird. Maybe there's another letter on the way or something.

I received 21k/yr scholarship, but I received it through email.

I still haven't gotten any call/email re: scholarships yet (admitted via phone call 12/11) but I also got the packet w/ another letter and a magazine in the mail yesterday.

I got a phone call on Wednesday from Karen Britton and received a packet on Friday with scholarship information that I was very happy with! I haven't gotten a magazine or anything like that though, just a few pages with the scholarship offer and a sheet to either accept or deny it that's due February 1. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted and good luck to all who are still waiting! And I attend UT for undergrad if anyone has any general questions about Knoxville!

Gonna be visiting Knoxville and UTK Law in about a week and a half. What should I definitely go to/do/see/eat/experience? Never been to Knoxville and I'll be staying one night in town, so I'll have plenty of time to take in whatever there is to see. I appreciate any guidance you all might have.

Just a friendly note to say that I attended undergrad at UTK and am living in Knoxville still so if you have any questions about the area or the university, just let me know

Obviously Neyland Stadium. Go get a beer downtown at Barley's Tap Room. It is touristy and there are better places, but if you've never been to Knoxville, it is your patriotic duty to eat a rack of ribs at Calhoun's on the River.

In addition to deadpanic's suggestions:

World's Fair Park (Sunsphere), Gay Street/Market Square (Old City), Volunteer landing (where Calhoun's is)

for shopping: Turkey Creek on the other side of town is cool, West Town Mall on Kingston Pike is nice as well..

That covers the "touristy, first time" visit stuff I think for the most part..

Ha, this is only the second time in six years that UT has cancelled classes. Just so you fully comprehend your bad luck lol
I mean, we literally had a tornado and they sent all of us in the library to the basement and wouldn't let us leave, and classes still continued.

But to answer your question, no, I don't think they call rejected students.

I was accepted 2 weeks ago and still have not heard anything about a scholarship. It is still in review with the scholarship committee. The wait is killing me. Its taking longer to get the scholarship info that my admission decision.

Others who got a scholarship, how long from your admission did it take to find out?
