"Your file is now complete and has been sent to the committee for review. The committee will begin reviewing files in January. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the admissions office.
Thank you,
The Admissions Staff"
Well if i understand this correctly it was sent to the committe for review, but it wont be reviewed till january. I show under review, does that mean that they started reviewing earlier than they expected or did the committee just received my application?? Do i make sense?

You likely won't hear back until late January or early February regardless. Just relaxndel21 wrote:"Your file is now complete and has been sent to the committee for review. It's possible... LSN shows some one the 23rd last year, I just wouldn't expect it. If they tell you January, take their word for it and be pleasantly surprised if it's sooner.ndel21 wrote:And here i was hoping for an early christmas present :/

Man... that would be a bummer.crossingfingers wrote:I'm in the same boat. Seems we're the only two. I thought I remembere that they only mail rejections, but I'm on my phone and can't check last year's thread right now. Hope I'm wrong!turnercr wrote:Decision Made 12/13

Though I wonder why they would reject so quickly. Hopefully we get some good news in the mail. Good luck.

Re: Indiana-Bloomington Class of 2016
Okay, check that. I dug up last year's thread and apparently TWO years back "decision mailed" meant rejection via snail mail, wait list list was through status check, and admits were through email. Last year it seems a bunch of the first admits went to "decision mailed" before getting admit emails and others had things happen the other way around. Maybe it's good news after all!
I submitted before thanksgiving (11.20) and was complete on the thirtieth before going in review the same day. "Decision made" today (12.13), but no email or word yet.
No one other than us two went to this status?

I would be shocked if they were rejecting already. Indiana is notorious for stalling on borderline candidates. Unless you're a clear ding, I wouldn't worry.turnercr wrote:Man... that would be a bummer.crossingfingers wrote:I'm in the same boat. Seems we're the only two. "Decision Made". Is this good or bad, since I haven't recieved an email regarding the nature of the decision (1 day after the fact)?

I have a really hard time thinking that your numbers aren't an auto admit. Makes me feel like good news is coming for us who switched to decision made, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for now.michaelm55 wrote:"Decision Made". Hey All -
I went to UG at IU so if you have any questions feel free to ask. I can give my insight as an out-of-stater since I'm not from Indiana.
If you have any Qs, let me know and I'll try to answer them when I see them. I can't comment on the law school other than the location of it.

No one gets rejected from law schools this early in the cycle. Or at least, it's really, really early for schools to send out rejections so you're more than likely in. If anything, folks would get put into the regular decision pile from the EA/ED pile.
Don't freak out. Let the process flow. You'll be fine. Enjoy it because that ends come 1L Fall.

I've been rejected from 4 law schools already. Objectively the worst poster on TLS. Stop giving advice please. This is a forum for prospective students, if you are not a current LS student at IU you shouldn't even be in this forum and if you are, you should check your facts when its comes to rejections.BearsGrl wrote:No one gets rejected from law schools this early in the cycle. I submitted apps on 10/1. I have received one decision so far, the day after Thanksgiving. My first thought was,"this seems awfully early for a rejection". I am very disturbed by the fact that I had the same thought as bearsgrl.

Re: Indiana-Bloomington Class of 2016
I've received 9 decisions so far and I submitted all my apps on 10/1 as well. If it helps any I am a heavy splitter. And I'll change my answer to 5 rejections, 2 waitlists and 2 acceptances. It's not too early for schools to ding you if you don't have the numbers.B90 wrote:I submitted apps on 10/1. I have received one decision so far, the day after Thanksgiving. Re: Indiana-Bloomington Class of 2016
I'm sorry if you've already received so many rejections. That wasn't common last cycle. Perhaps I should've said that it wasn't common for standard candidates to receive rejections so soon in the process. Most decisions for regular admission go out in late December through February.
Many people will have questions about Bloomington as a city. Since I had attended there, as an out of state student, I thought I would lend some eyes to this subject. If that offends you, I apologize.
Good luck everyone on their cycle!
